This trilingual Arabic Dictionary of the Quran is the first of its kind ever, since no dictionary on earth has adopted mixing the two systems. Therefore, this Dictionary represents a real revolution as far as simplifying looking up the Quranic word is concerned . As for authoritative Arabic-Arabic Quranic Dictionaries, there is none that deals with "bare" words ; rather they deal with alfaz lit. "utterances".As for other only bilingual Arabic-English dictionaries of the Quran, the most famous one is that by the orientalist Penrice of 1873. Despite its small size, its author on different occasions ridicules and challenges the way Muslim scholars interpret the Quran . It is highly venomous and it must be abandoned as far as true knowledge on Islam and the Quran is concerned . In the future the author of this trilingual Dictionary may provide pages from Penrice's Dictionary supporting this fact. In brief , this trilingual Dictionary has no rival on earth and it may remain so for decades if not centuries

This book is mainly concerned with the meaning and English translation of Qur’anic terms which are therefore, analyzed both out of and in context. This book establishes a method of investigation and analysis that linguists and translators could adopt when embarking on analysis of lexical items of the Qur’an and/or when translating it. Owing to the intrinsic difficulties inherent in the translation of the Qur’an, analytical studies on Qur’anic terms are almost unheard of, in spite of the fact that many are the works that deal with the Qur’an in all languages. Bearing in mind that ‘perfect’ translation is no more than an illusion, and that absolute synonymy is nothing but a myth, establishing the meaning of specialized Qur’anic terms with any degree of accuracy is an extremely daunting task, especially when addressing this issue in a language that is not that of the Qur’an. The present work is an attempt to bring the Qur’an a step closer to both the general reader as well as the specialized researcher. In addition to the semantic study of the Qur’anic terms and investigating their translations in six other renowned works, this book also addresses a number of important linguistic and cultural issues that no serious researcher of the Qur’an can afford to miss. Its depth of analysis and extensive notes are meant to save the reader the extraordinary effort required to check a multitude of works necessary to understand the issues at stake.

As for other bilingual Arabic-English dictionaries of the Quran, the most famous one is that by the orientalist Penrice of 1873 which is a small dictionary. It is very venemous and often ridicules the Muslim commentators of the Quran. It must be abandoned. This bilingual Dictionary, then, can be of great help to English-speaking readers who are after an accurate meaning of Quranic words. Readers do not need for the first time in the history of Arabic lexicography to think of the root of the Arabic word though this very root system is strictly adopted in the Dictionary.

The Qurʾan is the living source of all Islamic teaching, and is of singular importance to those interested in Islam and the study of religions. Despite this, there exists a long-felt lack of research tools for English first-language speakers who wish to access the Qurʾan in the original Arabic. The Dictionary of Qurʾanic Usage is the first comprehensive, fully-researched and contextualised Arabic-English dictionary of Qurʾanic usage, compiled in accordance with modern lexicographical methods by scholars who have a lifelong immersion in Qurʾanic Studies. Based on Classical Arabic dictionaries and Qurʾan commentaries, this work also emphasises the role of context in determining the meaning-scatter of each vocabulary item. Illustrative examples from Qurʾanic verses are provided in support of the definitions given for each context in which a particular word occurs, with cross-references to other usages. Frequently occurring grammatical particles are likewise thoroughly explained, insofar as they are used in conveying various nuances of meaning in the text.

The Arabic language possesses a unique language feature, the Allah Lexicon, a rich and varied body of religious expressions invoking the Almighty. Despite the pervasive presence of Allah in the Arabic language, this linguistic phenomenon has been largely unexplored. This book investigates the impact of Islam on the Arabic language by examining key cultural concepts, the frequency of the word God in Arabic and other languages, and the philosophical and theological foundation of Allah expressions.

Stylistic variation is the colourful manifestation of language. It is an intriguing linguistic phenomenon that can take place at different levels of language as it has been found in Qur’anic genre. Stylistic shift can occur within the sentence boundary at both the micro and the macro levels. In the micro text, stylistic variation occurs at the morpheme, word, and sentence levels. However, in the macro text, stylistic change can occur at the macro textual level beyond the sentence boundary. In other words, stylistically different sentences are found at different texts far away from each other. Stylistic variation mirrors language behaviour and the manipulation of the linguistic tools and strategies available to the text producer. Stylistic variation in Qur’anic Arabic occurs for a good reason and is context and co-text sensitive. Context and co-text are the linguistic habitat for stylistic shift. The surrounding grammatical, semantic, and phonetic environment has a direct impact upon the linguistic behaviour of Qur’anic genre. This is due to the fact that the text unfolds in a given context of situation. Therefore, the distinctive stylistic patterns are influenced by the contextual and co-textual factors. A linguistic-stylistic exploration of sentence patterns illuminates the reader’s appreciation of the grammatical and semantic subtleties underpinning the distinct meanings of two stylistically different but structurally identical sentences. A linguistic investigation of the stylistic patterns of language also unearths the underlying signification of two stylistically distinct sentences. The present analysis attempts to provide an insight into the resourceful stylistic and linguistic strategies of Arabic. The book sharpens up the reader’s awarness of the exotic stylistic patterns that are semantically-oriented. These stylistic structures can be realized through various linguistic processes that are specific to Arabic. The resourceful mechanism can be a useful linguistic tool to achieve various communicative functions with different semantic significations. The present account of Qur’anic genre explores how grammatical acceptability and semantic syntax are interrelated to stylistic variation in Arabic. This work provides an in-depth explicated analysis of stylistic variation in Qur’anic genre.
