In the letter of 1 John, we read, "he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." What exactly do these Scriptures mean? How do we "abide" in Jesus? What is it like to abide "IN Him" and Him IN us? How do we "abide in love?" The first Scriptures we'll study are in John 15, because they are so insightful. Jesus makes is clear what He means by abide in Me and in My love. First, He wants us to love Him/God, and demonstrate our love by obeying His teachings. He wants us to know the Word, to know Him, He is the Word. And when we do, "My words abide in you." We believe the Word and do it. When we abide in Him and His Word, we get to KNOW God better. Jesus said when we abide in Him, and Him in us, we can pray and ask in His name, and it shall be granted. When we abide in His love, which is the fruit of the Spirit, we can truly love the brethren. And without Him we can do nothing. Now let's read the other 58 Scriptures!!! Scripture explains Scripture. So each lesson herein is a paragraph or two of scripture, in context, sorted by themes, where two or more of the words "abide, in Him and/or in love" (and their various synonyms) appear in the same paragraph; followed by four questions. Although each Scripture is in context, it's best if you also read what surrounds these verses. Also included is a short form of The Gospel Message. We cannot abide in Him, and in His love without knowing and responding to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
