This novel, as in the previous eleven stories in the series involving Matt and the General, with the assistance of their associates and friends, Matt and the General combine their efforts to solve three major problems that involve the safety of the United States. In this instance, the action takes place completely within the United States, unlike the others that have an international flavor. An Untimely Situation is situated in the beautiful areas of Hilton Head Island and the residential community of Sun City Hilton Head located in the southeast coast of the state of South Carolina. As in the previous novels, Matt Miller, who has a PhD degree from a prestigious university, uses mathematical thinking and solid logic, along with the organizational ability of General Les Miller, his grandfather, to solve three major problems, recognized by the President of the United States. In this set of episodes, the action includes a governmental leak, the problems of ransomware, and a terrorist bombing. Throughout, the activity uses the knowledge of General Mark Clark and three important women including Ashley, who is Matt’s wife, Anna, who is the General’s wife, and Ann, who is General Clark’s wife.

Charting its historical conditions and the expansive contexts of its emergence, Susette Min challenges the notion of Asian American art as a site of reconciliation or as a way for marginalized artists to enter into the canon or mainstream art scene. Pressing critically on the politics of visibility and how this categorization reduces artworks by Asian American artists within narrow parameters of interpretation, Unnamable reconceives Asian American art not as a subset of objects, but as a medium that disrupts representations and embedded knowledge. By approaching Asian American art in this way, Min refigures the way we see Asian American art as an oppositional practice, less in terms of its aspirations to be seen—its greater visibility—and more in terms of how it models a different way of seeing and encountering the world. Uniquely presented, the chapters are organized thematically as mini-exhibitions, and offer readings of select works by contemporary artists including Tehching Hsieh, Byron Kim, Simon Leung, Mary Lum, and Nikki S. Lee. Min displays a curatorial practice and reading method that conceives of these works not as “exemplary” instances of Asian American art, but as engaged in an aesthetic practice that is open-ended. Our knowledge of reproductive medicine has expanded rapidly since the birth of Louise Brown, the first baby to be conceived by in vitro fertilization, which was performed by Professors Steptoe and Ed wards in Bourn Hall, England, in 1978. Hardly a year goes by without the development of a new or the modification of an existing method of assisted reproduction. Within a relatively short period, in vitro fertilization has been introduced into the treatment of female infertility. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection has also created new opportunities for the treatment of male infertility. This manual takes stock of the techniques of assisted reproduc tion that are available today. Competent authors from various centers present, in a concise way, their tried-and-tested procedures, so that the latter can be readily implemented. Due to different legal regulations, the scope of assisted re production is much more limited in Germany than in many other countries. For example, whereas only three embryos may be con ceived and transferred in Germany, such restrictions do not exist in several other European countries and the United States. Further more, heterologous fertilization, oocyte donation, and surrogate motherhood are banned in Germany. We are glad to have been able to recruit many international ex perts to present the various fields of assisted reproduction from their perspective. We hope this book will help to establish the different therapies and achieve a wide distribution.
