Long-term child studies focus on the behavioral data found as well as the environment in which the child is brought up with. The environment in which the child is raised has significant effects on the behavior in the classroom throughout the life of the child. To exclude environmental data, which is part of long-term behavioral data within the home, animal models were studied to evaluate conditioning abilities and social play between animals. Implications for teaching were then determined based off research and behavioral techniques that are best practice for children diagnosed with ADHD.
