NEW PRINT WITH PROFESSIONAL TYPE-SET IN CONTRAST TO SCANNED PRINTS OFFERED BY OTHERS British Airships: Past, Present And Future This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Excerpt from Zeppelins: Past and Future When, however, early in 1909, Count Zeppelin handed over his first military airship to the German Government and it was found successful to a degree, a considerable section of expert Opinion in Germany decided that the superior of the aeroplane for military purposes had been discovered; and despite, or rather because of, a series of failures and catastrophes, she secured just such a lead in rigid-airship construction as France had Obtained in aeroplanes, with the added advantage that it was much more difficult to overcome or equal. Those catastrophes, coupled with a tremendous advance in aeroplane design and performance, had induced other nations to believe that the aeroplane was the better, as it was the more attractive machine, and while France, Italy, and Great Britain devoted some attention to non-rigid types of airship, the rigid was, broadly, regarded as Germany's preoccupation. Excerpt from The Aeroplane: Past, Present, and Future Only one who follows events attentively from day to day can now realise the extraordinary rapid strides which aviation is making. This book - and notably such features of it as the list of the world 's airmen and the records of the chief flights made - may, we hope, bear testimony to the astonishing growth of flying, and particularly to the energy and enthusiasm of those engaged in its development.
