Here the science may be understood, without possessing a knowledge of mathematics, for wherever geometrical figures are introduced they explain themselves, and these are more generally found in Book Second. It is with the view to render the study of this sublime and useful branch of knowledge more entertaining, more complete, and more easily understood by the general class of enquirers than it has hitherto been, that this book appears.
