Best-selling novelist Emma Jean Sullivan longed for a baby for years. But when she was unable to conceive with her husband, Peter, she staunchly vowed to become the standard bearer for all childless couples. And she succeeds spectacularly. At age 48 (43 according to her blog, "Life, Full Tilt") Emma Jean enjoys a rabid anti-baby fan base, and her novels have sold millions. But now, she confronts a dilemma larger than any her heroines have faced: She’s pregnant. And the baby’s father is not her husband. Terrified of losing both her fan base and her identity, she struggles to maintain her brand and her marriage, but Peter is too busy embezzling Emma Jean’s money and completely uninterested in fatherhood. Not only that, her latest novel is a miserable failure, and a Vanity Fair reporter, who plans to out Emma Jean’s pregnancy to her fans, is stalking her. What’s a suddenly broke, failing, middle-aged, pregnant novelist to do? Why, flee to a glamorous resort town, of course.

Mermaid Swimwear CEO Butch Oldham was an equal opportunity scoundrel who screwed anyone and everyone in his wake. So, the question wasn’t who wanted the bastard dead. The question was, who didn’t? After Mermaid sales exec Holly Schlivnik finds colleague Queenie Levine standing over Oldham’s battered corpse nailed to a fabric cutting table with a pair of cutting shears plunged deep into his chest, the cops soon recover Queenie’s hidden blood-soaked sweater, discover her stormy relationship with the victim, and her public threats to make Butch pay for destroying Mermaid by stealing it blind. When Queenie is arrested for Butch’s murder, Holly jumps into action to flesh out the real killer. But the trail has more twists and turns than a slinky, and nothing turns out the way the wise-cracking, irreverent amateur sleuth thinks it will as she tangles with a clever killer hellbent for revenge.

Cynic. Screw up. Outsider. That’s Jameson in a nutshell - not to mention drool-worthy, dreamy, and perfect fantasy object. He’s also my older brother’s best friend and business partner. I’ve had a thing for Jameson ever since I was old enough to have dirty dreams. My brother has made it crystal clear that if he catches rough, wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jameson even looking at me, someone will get hurt. That doesn’t deter me, though. I want Jameson to be my first. And that’s why my brother can never find out what happened. Because Jameson kissed me. No -- not kissed -- he shoved me up against a wall, possessed me, and took my breath away. Then he promptly passed out in my bed, wasted. Now I know that Jameson wants me. I may be off limits because of my brother, but that kiss is branded in my mind. I need another taste of Jameson. I crave his brutal touch. Pinned against the wall, gasping at the feel of his body pressed against mine, crying out in pleasure and pain while he gives me everything I’ve dreamed about. As long as my brother doesn’t catch on, Jameson might just give me exactly what I want… and a whole hell of a lot more.

He broke up with me, citing his friendship with my big brother. So I washed my hands of him. Heartbroken, I am trying to move on with my life. But of course, Jameson can’t make things easy for me. He’s still in my space every chance he gets, taunting me with his soulful eyes and his clever smile. I remember all too well what it felt like to be wrapped in his arms, to be under his big body, to be screaming his name. I just can’t seem to shake him. Every step I take away from him seems to bring us closer together, even though we’ve been down this road before. The same forces threaten to rip us apart forever… unless Jameson and I learn to put love first.

Just think if you had a go-to book that would help solve your toughest challenges when working with troubled teens. Jean Eich, PsyD, was searching for such a resource and it didn’t exist... “I didn't have and couldn't find a comprehensive, practical source of information for doing DBT with teenagers. And it needed to be something that spoke to therapists, parents and the adolescents as all are involved for successful treatment. I wanted a source of information that would include worksheets on DBT written for teenagers and in a way that appeals to them. I also wanted information about how to practically apply DBT with parents and a source of information that I could point parents to. Plus - it needed to include something for the professionals to implement DBT, and work with these distinct audiences, as they are related. Not finding what I needed - I wrote one, including all the information I have learned and applied in my own practice.” Introducing - a complete skills training manual for DBT with adolescents, focused on practical application for teens, parents and therapists, all in one comprehensive manual. Part One covers DBT for teens with comprehensive and age-relevant skills explanations, examples, and applied worksheets. Eich makes the skills real for teens with exercises that get them practicing new behaviors in real-life situations. Includes teaching pages for all four DBT skills training modules. Part Two is a dedicated focus to parents with pertinent information on DBT, parenting, and common teenage developmental issues, as well as, skills written to get parents using them individually, in connection with their child(ren), and as a part of the family system. This section not only emphasizes that DBT skills can be used for anybody and everybody, but also that parents need to be active and involved for an effective change process. Part Three is crafted for therapists, with practical strategies on how to conduct DBT programming, tips to navigate dialectical dilemmas with adolescent developmental tasks and behaviors, and advice to balance therapy with parental involvement. Part Three also contains suggestions to teach the skills in active and experiential ways along with helpful sample forms, handouts, and worksheets.

This story in 2018 has an anniversary of fifty-eight years. I wrote this book for information and to tell our story. We are Native Americans, and we live in Dunn, which is located in Harnett County, North Carolina. This book is a true account of the struggle of two brave Indian brothers who wanted better education opportunities for their children. My dad often made this statement: "Parents want a better life for their children than what they have experienced." He often reminded me and my nine siblings, "Your money could be taken, your valuables stolen, but no one could take knowledge from you." After the eighth grade, there were no accommodations in Harnett County for Indian high school students. High school students attended the state run Eastern Carolina Institute for Indian Children. This involved a seventy-two-mile round-trip on a bus daily. We had to rely upon our Lord and Savior for our strength. Our journey would take six long years. It was our faith that made us strong for the challenge. When the mission was accomplished, six of the siblings received an education at Dunn High School.
