While the narrative produced after the Mexican Revolution of 1910 has been thoroughly explored by scholars from all around the globe, Porfirian literature has remained a great mystery. That is, this dissertation constitutes the first monograph-length study of Porfirian literature since John Brushwood's scholarship during the late 1990s.
