This is a true story about how the system of justice works to protect America's children, with the essential support of thousands of volunteers, Guardian ad Litem (GALs), also known as Court Appointed Special Advocates. We call them "Guardians without Wings." We have found the lack of proper education, the influence of secularism, and especially, poor moral upbringing, represent the fundamental causes of child abandonment, neglect and abuse. More than 75% of Americans claim to be Judeo-Christians at the beginning of this century. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are based on Christian principles, yet many have discarded these values that are the foundation of our society. We believe that all children are born innocent and lovable! It is the parents, relatives, role models, peer group pressure, secular (and atheistic) teachers, and mainly the "culture of death", that have caused too many of these children to grow up to become dysfunctional adults, and in many cases, appalling parents. What do we mean by "culture of death" in western society? It is our growing divorce rates (over 52%); Abortion-On-Demand (50 million so far) and rise of Euthanasia; Unmarried Parents, who lack responsibility for their children; and the epidemic of illegal drug addiction problem. Some parents are clueless about the essentials of parenting. They are immature adults themselves. As one Judge said, "they are like rabbits that keep on reproducing." Should these "adults" have children, if they are morally, and psychologically unable to be loving, caring parents? You can't love, if you have not been loved as a child. The lack of spiritual formation (Jewish, Christian, among other faiths) was predominant in about 80-85% of our cases, and that represents one of the most important reasons for the breakdown of social order in our society. Conversely, we must be very careful to avoid extreme fundamentalists that will actually create further issues for our children. "If we have full employment and great economic growth ... but our children have not learned to walk in goodness, justice and mercy, then the American experiment ... will have failed." William Bennett

Birds Without Wings traces the fortunes of one small community in southwest Turkey (Anatolia) in the early part of the last century—a quirky community in which Christian and Muslim lives and traditions have co-existed peacefully over the centuries and where friendship, even love, has transcended religious differences. But with the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire and the onset of the Great War, the sweep of history has a cataclysmic effect on this peaceful place: The great love of Philothei, a Christian girl of legendary beauty, and Ibrahim, a Muslim shepherd who courts her from near infancy, culminates in tragedy and madness; Two inseparable childhood friends who grow up playing in the hills above the town suddenly find themselves on opposite sides of the bloody struggle; and Rustem Bey, a wealthy landlord, who has an enchanting mistress who is not what she seems. Far away from these small lives, a man of destiny who will come to be known as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is emerging to create a country from the ruins of an empire. Victory at Gallipoli fails to save the Ottomans from ultimate defeat and, as a new conflict arises, Muslims and Christians struggle to survive, let alone understand, their part in the great tragedy that will reshape the whole region forever.

This is a true story of my life and how I was born with a gift from God. It wasn't until later I was awakened that I realized I had these gifts. I didn't know anyone like me. I knew that I had always had someone talking in my right ear since the age of six. I would call it my intuition. I knew I was different because I was told things that were going to happen before they happened and had dreams of things before they happened. It was later on that I found out that I was an earth angel. And in fact, that it was my guardian angel who talked to me and guided me. And as you read in the book, the events that had happened were always validated. In the book, I talked about a miracle resurrection of my dog, which was also a gift from God, an out-of-body experience, and how my spirit travelled to a different place. I see angels and talk with angels. My guardian angel, who you will be reading about, who we refer to as Mama Angel, has guided me throughout my life along with the other angels, and that will be coming out in my next book called Concrete Angel where there will be more stories of miracles and healings, where I can tell you how to connect with your guardian angel and other angels and signs to look for when your guardian angel is near. In this book, I also talked about a high priest who came after me and knew who I was and what it took to defeat him. I had many challenges in the early part of my life. As I got older, my gift got stronger. My awakening didn't happen until I was forty-eight. You will read about many more miracles that occurred in this book.

Once upon a time… a long time ago in a land far, far away, there lived a girl by the name of Cinderella. This is not her story. This is the story of Lucinda Isabella Casteleoni, who, like her namesake, has a wicked stepmother, two tacky stepsisters, and countless hours of hard work to (not) look forward to. But unlike that fairy tale princess, Bella’s Prince Charming is nowhere to be found. Until a little old man with sparkling green eyes opens a shoe store down the street. Then the magic begins...

What should professionalsjudges, lawyers, teachers, social workers, and Guardian ad Litem or CASA volunteers consider in pursuing the Best Interest of Children who have been abandoned, neglected or abused? How can Department of Children and Families improve their systems? Best Interests of the Children explains that the ethical principles of Beneficence and Non-Maleficence exist in the medical world to maximize benefit and to avoid harm to patients. The duty is to assist persons in need, and its converse, the duty to refrain from causing harm. These same principles should apply to the Best Interest standard used in the children and families dependency welfare system, to protect defenseless children from parental abandonment, neglect and abuse. When parents separate, which of them should have primary responsibility for the childs care? Who is the actual psychological parent? With compassion and actual case experiences, the authors, Miriam and Robert Fertig, help readers understand many of the key issues inherent in childcare decisions. They present a dozen Florida cases, as seen through the Eyes of Guardians. They conclude that timely and effective services and continuity of care for the family is essential for the physical, emotional and psychological well-being of children. Case summaries from other states indicate that Americas Department of Children and Families (DCF) has serious systemic problems. The authors propose realistic solutions to improve this nationwide system. Best Interests of the Children will also enlighten the public and their legislators. Best Interests is an eye-opening, heart-wrenching, information-packed guide to the world of families in crisis and the crucial role of Guardian ad Litem. Written in a conversational style, it can be blunt and feisty at times, but is always enlightening. I found myself shocked on one page, and then extremely edified and encouraged on the page that followed. Any book that is so provocative and stimulating will occasionally ignite a mental mini-debate between reader and author, but this is part of the fun and education, that comes from any book this stimulating, that penetrates mind and heart at the same time. Highly recommended. Reader Review by: Thomas Woodward (Ph.D. USF), Professor of Trinity College, Founder and Director of the C. S. Lewis Society, in Florida
