Hearing the Word with a Spiritual Ear was written to encourage those that feel for some reason or another, they don't measure up and to those that feel as though the light has dimmed in their spiritual walk. It is my hope that whatever has put you in a religious rut can be removed. It is my desire that something written will lead to a spiritual revival of your soul. Hearing in the spirit can remove doubts, fears, and feelings of unworthiness and replace them with the joys of the spirit. It is truly joyous to discover that to Jesus Christ you are just as important as anybody else that God created. Hearing in the spirit will tell you that your walk with God can be just as close as your heart desires because you are important to Him. You no longer have to abandon corporate worship or sit in church emotionally detached, feeling that everybody else is more worthy than you are. Christ introduced God to us as a loving father that desires for all of us to be filled with the joys of His spirit.

Imagine a life in which you clearly hear God’s voice and follow His will daily. Do you long for God to speak to you, bringing guidance, strength, and comfort? Perhaps you have been praying for a word from God, but the heavens seem silent. Nothing is more important than knowing how to hear from God because our spiritual life depends on it. Without it, we can’t know and obey His will for us, and we may go down the wrong path or miss His plans for us. The Bible teaches and guides us in essential matters, but instruction for God’s specific, daily purposes for our lives comes from His Holy Spirit, who lives within us. Being able to hear from God is a growing, deepening process that leads us into His perfect plans. Through his extensive study of the Scriptures and personal life experiences, internationally renowned Bible teacher Derek Prince explains the practical steps you can take to hear from God, develop a close relationship with Him, remove obstacles to recognizing His voice, and understand the ways in which He communicates. Hearing God enables us to follow Him more confidently, love Him more deeply, and serve Him more completely. As you cultivate the practice of hearing God’s voice, you will receive the fresh, daily bread that nourishes you spiritually and find divine direction and strength for your ongoing walk with Him. This is the lifestyle you have been waiting for: hearing God’s voice and following Him each day, each step of the way. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

Have your eyes ever played tricks on you? Have you ever seen a mirage? Have you or anyone you know ever been asked to serve as a witness in a criminal trial? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you know what it is like to doubt what you've seen. Have you ever felt like you "heard" things others did not? Have you "known" things without knowing? Have you puzzled at the ability to discern what is going on in the hearts and minds of others? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you know what it is like to doubt what you're "hearing." It has often been said that blind people have nearly supernatural hearing. The more common understanding is the blind person has developed a keener sense of where sounds are coming from to make up for their lack of sight. What if we literally "walked by faith, not by sight" as suggested in 2 Corinthians 5:7? What would that look like and how would we function spiritually? This book explores the weaknesses of depending on what we see as opposed to what God and His Word has to say to us. Three stages of spiritual hearing and insight are explored and compared to the Outer Ear, Middle Ear and Inner Ear functions. Deep INNER HEARING is not reserved for the spiritually elite; it is for you!
