Ryann is torn between two kings… two brothers. Lad, the king of the Light Court, is her first love. Nox, the new king of the Dark Court, came through when she needed him most and won her heart. But Lad has revealed a secret to Ryann that devastates her and tears at her loyalties. And though Nox and Lad are fierce rivals for the girl they both love, an even bigger problem threatens them all. The unsuspecting human population of the world hangs in the balance of an approaching war between Dark and Light. Powerful fan pods have transformed the face of the country. It’s abnormal NOT to be in one now. The Dark Council’s plan is almost accomplished, and they are nearly ready to reveal themselves and take back rulership of the world, as it was in the old days, before the history books were written. Ryann can’t believe the Nox she knows and loves would allow that to happen, though he is now deeply entrenched in the Dark Court and seems to be changing by the day. Is his love for Ryann strong enough to give him the strength to stand against his people and their plot? Or should she side with Lad and the Light Court, who appear to have the welfare of humans in mind? He is fighting the looming danger hard as he can, fully involved now in the world of Elven politics he tried so hard to avoid. And what can Ryann-- only a partial Fae-- personally do? Slavery: The Darkest History of the United States offers a compelling and meticulously researched journey into the heart of America’s most painful chapter. Spanning over 250 years, this narrative delves deep into the institution of slavery, a period that not only shaped the nation’s early economy but also its societal and ethical framework. The book begins with the harrowing origins of the transatlantic slave trade, tracing the journey of millions of Africans forcibly transported to the New World. It lays bare the cruel realities of plantation life, where human beings were reduced to mere property. The narrative unfolds through heart-wrenching personal accounts and historical analyses, painting a vivid picture of the daily struggles and injustices faced by slaves. Yet within these pages, there is also a story of resilience and resistance. The book chronicles the brave acts of rebellion and the tireless efforts of abolitionists who fought against the odds to bring an end to this inhumane practice. It captures the spirit of a people who, despite unimaginable hardships, never lost hope for a brighter future. Moving beyond the Emancipation Proclamation, the author explores the enduring legacy of slavery in the United States. The book thoughtfully examines how the remnants of this dark era continue to influence contemporary American society, culture, and race relations. Slavery: The Darkest History of the United States is not just a recount of past atrocities; it is an introspective reflection on America’s ongoing journey toward healing and reconciliation. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the profound impact of this period on the American identity and the long, challenging path toward achieving true equality and justice.

The first basic thesis of Anti-Roman Cryptograms in the New Testament: Hidden Transcripts of Hope and Liberation is that the Jesus of history and his earliest and closest followers during his lifetime and during the decades after he had been crucified by the Romans had not only a deep longing for eternal life with God beyond the limits of this world, but also a strong desire for liberation from Roman political, economic, and social oppression. The second basic thesis of Anti-Roman Cryptograms in the New Testament is that within the Christian Scriptures there are more hidden transcripts, coded messages (anti-Roman cryptograms) of hope and liberation, for «freedom now» within this life, than we have realized throughout most of the history of interpretation. Hidden transcripts of hope and liberation are coded so that oppressed people are able to communicate to their fellow oppressed people in ways in which their message and their intent are shielded from the perceptions of their oppressors. These messages by the Jesus of history and by the writers of New Testament and related literature use the language of faith, of salvation, of Deity, and of adversaries of Deity, giving words that are commonly used by the oppressed people new and double meanings. Within interaction with other scholars who are publishing studies of hidden transcripts, this book is an analysis of hidden transcripts within each of the New Testament documents. The book is designed to be used in New Testament Studies courses at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, by study groups, and by all persons who desire a more adequate understanding of the Jesus of history, his closest followers, and their oral and written communications during the first three centuries C.E.

From pastor and New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller comes the perfect gift for the Christmas holiday—a profoundly moving and intellectually provocative examination of the nativity story Even people who are not practicing Christians think they are familiar with the story of the nativity. Every Christmas displays of Baby Jesus resting in a manger decorate lawns and churchyards, and songs about shepherds and angels fill the air. Yet despite the abundance of these Christian references in popular culture, how many of us have examined the hard edges of this biblical story? In his new book Timothy Keller takes readers on an illuminating journey into the surprising background of the nativity. By understanding the message of hope and salvation within the Bible’s account of Jesus’ birth, readers will experience the redeeming power of God’s grace in a deeper and more meaningful way.
