THE FASCINATING INSIDE STORY OF THE QUEST TO BUILD THE WORLD'S MOST AMBITIOUS PROFESSIONAL GAMING LEAGUE--AND THE RACE TO WIN ITS $1,000,000 PRIZE. Welcome to the high-stakes world of esports where shit-talking teenage gamers, billionaire sports franchise owners, and celebrity entrepreneurs are all competing to understand and conquer the fast-emerging future of entertainment. The burgeoning frontier of professional gaming has moved beyond the niche corners of the internet to become a global phenomenon, upending youth viewership for the major sports leagues and opening a generational rift over the nature of "athletics." Soon, professional video game competitions may well be as ingrained in our culture as Monday Night Football. YOUNG GUNS: Obsession, Overwatch, and the Future of Gamingtakes readers behind the scenes of the esports boom and into the lives of the gamers and game changers leading the charge, unfurling a wry, unexpected, and often hilarious narrative about the rise of professional gaming and the business of electronic sports. An avid gamer himself, author Austin Moorhead became fascinated by pro gaming, in particular the Overwatch League (OWL) after sports titans Robert Kraft, Stan Kroenke, and Jeff Wilpon each paid $20 million for a team. At the same time that he began investigating the inner-workings of the league, OWL launched esports into the American mainstream, inking TV deals with ABC and ESPN, selling out NBA stadiums for live competitions, and minting a new version of young pro athletes. Embedding with two top teams in the Overwatch League, the San Francisco Shock and the London Spitfire, as they embark on the inaugural season, Moorhead pulls back the curtain on the grueling practice schedules and spartan lifestyles of the league's most popular players. In addition to the "gamer houses" and competitions in which the pros hone their skills, Moorhead takes readers into the board room of Overwatch-developer Blizzard Entertainment, where entrepreneurs eager to capitalize on youth culture take bets on new esports franchises for tens of millions. The result is a rollicking story about the superstars of the future and the absurd collision of adolescent prodigies and high-stakes industry, an uproarious look at the future of sports and entertainment that is part Bringing Down the House, part Moneyball.

America urgently needs a new direction. But who will provide it? The time has come to move the country forward with a clear agenda based on common sense for the common good. THERE IS A BETTER WAY. Make no mistake: Congressmen Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, and Kevin McCarthy are proud Republicans. But they believe the party had lost sight of the ideals it believes in, like economic freedom, limited government, the sanctity of life, and putting families first. This isn’t your grandfather’s Republican party. These Young Guns of the House GOP—Cantor (the leader), Ryan (the thinker), and McCarthy (the strategist)—are ready to take their belief in the principles that have made America great and translate it into solutions that will make the future even better, solutions that will create private sector jobs, maximize individual freedom, and establish a better world for our children. This groundbreaking book is a call to action that sets forth a plan for growth, opportunity, and commitment that will propel this country to prosperity once again. Together, the Young Guns are changing the face of the Republican party and giving us a new road map back to the American dream.

Fact: the Millennial Generation will not be able to rely on pensions and social security in retirement. Instead, they will have to save and invest in the global stock market to meet their goals. When it comes to thinking about money, Millennials are, as a generation, different from their parents. They are skeptical of expert advice, yet more committed than baby boomers to passing wealth on to future generations. To build wealth, young people must start investing early and buck conventional market wisdom. Millennial Money will explain the most common mistakes that hurt investors' long-term returns and show why their investments in popular stocks or the hottest industry of the day have resulted in such underwhelming results. More importantly, the book will introduce a strategy that can help us overcome our shortcomings as investors. Armed with this strategy, Millennials can become the most successful investing generation in history.

We wrote Learn 2 Invest Kid with the intention of helping people become hopeful about their financial future. The idea for the book stemmed from our own need to raise money for Young Guns Weightlifting and Boxing Club, a free award winning youth club created in 2019. When the pandemic arrived the non-profit sector was hit especially hard. Funding from businesses and government was reduced or halted, fundraising galas were banned and traditional fundraising activities such as selling our protein donuts directly to the public were not allowed. Our club also had trouble obtaining funds so we decided to invest in dividend-paying stocks, freeing ourselves from having to apply for government grants and other funding. It worked. The goal of this book is to help readers learn about investing in blue chip dividend paying stocks. There are two ways to make money off stocks: Capital Appreciation and Dividends. Did you know that some companies, such as Canadian banks, have consistently paid their dividends for over 150 years? As dividends increase the share price typically follows. We try to make this process easy to understand. Within the pages of this book, investment concepts are broken down and analyzed; successes and failures are discussed; and research and patience are emphasized. Many examples are used to help prepare the reader for the bumpy road of investing. With simple language and using superheroes as examples, we have found a unique way of presenting complex investment ideas that make it easy for the reader to understand. Learn 2 Invest Kid will help readers gain confidence and show that investing in stocks is viable way of creating personal wealth. Unfortunately, this is not taught in schools.
