Don't miss this pulse-pounding prequel to the Jurassic World movies that reveals the never-before-seen backstory of beloved film character Claire Dearing. Freshman year in college is full of obstacles--there are messy roommates, cranky professors, and disgusting dining halls. But for Claire Dearing, add "How to properly avoid being eaten by a dinosaur" to that list. The year is 2004, and Claire has been given the chance of a lifetime: the opportunity to intern at the Jurassic World theme park less than a year before it opens to the public. She is laser-focused, with her sights set on bettering the lives of all animals worldwide. But life at the park isn't all test-driving gyrospheres and falling head over heels for a fellow student named Justin . . . though she does that too. Rumors and suspicions flood the island, and Claire is determined to unravel the truth. As Claire searches for answers, she and Justin find themselves thrust into a sinister plot that will leave Claire forever changed, forcing her to question everything she thought she knew and bringing her one step closer to the Claire viewers met in Jurassic World and who they'll return to in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Embark on a Haunting Odyssey in The Wine Dark Passage... In the eerie shadows of a post-apocalyptic world, where time has unraveled into chaos, emerges a tale of survival and awakening as the nuclear submarine Sarpedon follows a private canal to a mysterious destination ... The Silent Protagonist Meet Pang "The Mouse" In-Su, a 13-year-old Korean deafmute girl, whose silence speaks louder than words. Pang grapples with the weight of a disordered world, haunted by memories of loss and the relentless pursuit of survival. The Enigmatic Captain and His Companions Captain O'Neil guides the USS Sarpedon through the wine-dark waters. Alongside him, Enge Puckett, a steadfast companion, adds a touch of humanity to the stark reality of survival. Together, they navigate through the remnants of a world that has succumbed to the whims of time, where primitive people and dinosaurs roam in the shadows. The Elon Musk-like Enigma Enter Steve Dannon, an Elon Musk-like figure, whose private compound, Chryse Planitia, beckons like a forbidden sanctuary on Vashon Island. Dannon, reminiscent of Conrad's Kurtz, hides secrets that echo in the whispers of those who dare to challenge his fractured reality. As the crew embarks on this odyssey, Dannon's enigma looms large—a force that can reshape destinies or plunge them into deeper darkness. A Heart of Darkness in the Pacific Northwest In this Pacific Northwest dystopia, the crew must confront the perils of a distorted time, facing not only the remnants of a lost world but the shadows of their own morality ... From The Wine Dark Passage: We watched as he gestured to what appeared to be a large hand crank near the edge of the lock. Do it, O’Neil seemed to indicate. And he moved toward it—even as something moved with him through the shadows; something sleek and dark and stealthy as a panther. Something which was joined by three other somethings as Jarnel took up the big, iron handle and began to crank it—pausing to take off his coat and roll up his sleeves, completely oblivious to the fact that he was being watched. That he was being stalked. What happened next happened fast; so fast that I was still shaking Puckett’s shoulder, telling him to fire, fire!—when one of the things leapt onto Jarnel’s back and just held on tight: curling its talons so that they dug into his thin, wet shoulders, seeming to rake his back with its sickle-clawed hindlimbs, closing its jaws about his neck and jugular. Nor did it stop there but only got worse, as the other velociraptors, the other murder birds, descended on him like flies, like jackals—knocking him to the ground, burying him as if in quicksand, making it impossible for anyone to even shoot at them for fear of hitting Jarnel himself. Not that there would have been any point—he was clearly dead already—as Captain O’Neil spoke into his mic and the sub moved on through the now-open gates. As the raptors snarled and fought over Jarnel’s corpse and I looked toward the sky at the fat, bloody moon (which was partially obscured by the semi-luminescent clouds; the so-called Flashback Borealis, which shown red as Abaddon); noting that the world hadn’t remarked on his death in the least but only continued to look on in perfect silence: impenetrable, inscrutable, having nothing whatsoever to say—nothing to add or take away—like we ourselves, I supposed. And then it was time to get ready—as we were more than halfway there. Time to go over the plan once more and to steel ourselves, steel our shivering stomachs, for what was yet to come. To get square with our gods and Buddhas so we could go ashore at Camp Burton—where there was a small port tucked into a heavily forested cul-de-sac—and do at last what needed to be done.

The final Flashback begins ... It's all led to this. All the characters and situations of the Flashback/Dinosaur Apocalypse come together in a final trilogy of tales that will close out and define the saga. Join Ank and Williams, the crew of Gargantua, the kids from Thunder Road, and so many others as they heed the call to adventure one last time and face the very architects of the Flashback! From The War-torn Hills of Earth: The gold fog rolled and so did the water, foaming and frothing, revealing first the photonics mast and communications antennas, then The Sarpedon’s black, sea-slicked sail and forward fins, then its great, dark, parabolic bow—which breached the surface at an angle, like the plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs and mosasaurs swimming alongside—until, still steaming forward, the ship was fully surfaced and its aft fins visible; at which three people—two men and a small woman with a bob haircut—appeared in the sail. “Jesus,” gasped Puckett, the engineering chief, as he looked at the beasts, which filled the water for as far as the eye could see (which nonetheless wasn’t very far, due to the fog). “If I hadn’t seen it myself, I wouldn’t have believed it. The sonar doesn’t lie.” Captain O’Neil was more circumspect. “But why, goddammit. That’s what I want to know. I’ve certainly never seen them migrate en masse like this—like Hammerhead sharks. What’s the reason?” Both of them had to shout over the crash and commotion of the waves. Pang signed excitedly at them as the wind chopped her hair. “What’s she saying?” Puckett, who’d been working with her, paraphrased: “She’s saying, ‘What if they were called too—only in a different way?’” He watched as she continued to sign. “‘Or—considering the dream used sound and imagery instead of words—the exact same way?’” O’Neil looked at the marine animals as they leapt and dove and swam powerfully alongside. Aye, but for a different reason, he thought. “Ho!” cried Chief Puckett suddenly. “The Santa Monica Pier!” O’Neil peered into the fog and saw the tiny silhouette of a Ferris wheel emerging from the gloom, then unhooked his mic. “Half ahead, revolutions 500—and mind the beasties.” He looked at Pang. “Yes, I’m going to send a team ashore. And no, you’re not—” And that’s when it happened: that’s when the pterodactyl flapped down like an oyster-white threshing machine and snatched her up by the shoulders—began rising. That’s when O’Neil drew his sidearm—even as Puckett grabbed her by the ankle—but couldn’t get a shot in through the pounding wings and Pang’s own flailing—until there was the briefest of openings, and he did fire. Until he got lucky, and the bird fell and so did Pang—still being gripped by her ankle—so that she was flipped upside down and slammed against the sail—which her head hit like a rock. So that she was knocked unconscious even as Puckett and O’Neil held tightly and ultimately dragged her back into the conning tower. After which, drearily—for they were unable to wake her or get any sort of reaction at all—there was nothing to do but take her to the infirmary and monitor her. Nothing to do, frankly, but pray.
