"Breathtaking... so much more than a thriller." —Josh Malerman, bestselling author of Bird Box and Malorie "Hits the thriller trifecta: a natural disaster, danger around every corner, and compelling well-drawn characters." —Heather Gudenkauf, New York Times bestselling author A one-more-page, up-all-night story about two strangers who need each other's help to survive the night after a devastating earthquake shakes Los Angeles. Beegie is riding the bus when the quake hits. The teenager was heading back to her unhappy foster home, but then she’s thrown into a broken world. Roads crumble, storefronts shatter and people run wild. Dessa, a single mom, is enjoying a rare night out when it strikes. Cell towers are down, so without even knowing if her three-year-old daughter is dead or alive, she races to get back across town. As danger escalates in the chaotic streets, Beegie and Dessa meet by a twist of fate and an act of violence. The two form a fragile partnership, relying on each other in ways they never thought possible, and learn who they really are when there’s only one goal: just get home. “A flat-out thriller [that is] also smart and insightful on timely, important ideas…. Heartbreaking and complicated in the best way… This is addictive reading that changes you as you turn the pages and stays with you long after you’ve finished.” —Laurie Frankel, New York Times bestselling author of This Is How It Always Is

What the critics are saying about Just Wait Until We Get Home: "It looks like a really great book...judging it by its cover. I haven't actually read it yet, but I hope to soon."--Boston Accent & Times Tribune "A subtle murder mystery with deep, complex characters and an interesting, involved subplot make this story a real suspense-filled page turner...or no, wait, hold the line a second, that's a different book entirely. Uhm, I believe we have some sort of mix up here. Sorry about that. Nevermind!"--Southern Drawl & Globe Gazette "The book Just Wait Until We Get Home! is an abomination. It is in no way representative of the people of the great Midwest, the heartland of our country. We are not all vandals and criminals. I think Tristram Hoosier should get a day job."--Midwestern Twang & Town Crier In Tristram Hoosier's second book about his family and growing up in Gary, Indiana, a neighbor's garage burns down, a grandmother reminisces about how Tristram's great-grandfather was arrested during Prohibition, an aunt makes a drug bust, a neighbor kid builds a real, working cannon in metal shop and a church bake sale turns into a disaster. Just Wait Until We Get Home! clearly illustrates that it's never too early to start procrastinating.

A Kirkus Reviews Best Middle Grade Book of 2019 “A stirring Southern middle grade book that burns brighter than fireworks on the Fourth.” —Kirkus Reviews (starred review) “A must for readers who appreciate a heartfelt mystery.” —Booklist (starred review) “An intricate mix of Southern mystery, history, and a ghost story that creeps but doesn’t scare.” —School Library Journal (starred review) Cousins Sarah and Janie unearth a tragic event in their small Southern town’s history in this witty middle grade novel that’s perfect for fans of Stella by Starlight, The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing, and As Brave as You. Twelve-year-old Sarah is finally in charge. At last, she can spend her summer months reading her favorite science books and bossing around her younger brother, Ellis, instead of being worked to the bone by their overly strict grandmother, Mrs. Greene. But when their cousin, Janie arrives for a visit, Sarah’s plans are completely squashed. Janie has a knack for getting into trouble and asks Sarah to take her to Creek Church: a landmark of their small town that she heard was haunted. It’s also off-limits. Janie’s sticky fingers lead Sarah, Ellis, and his best friend, Jasper, to uncover a deep-seated part of the town’s past. With a bit of luck, this foursome will heal the place they call home and the people within it they call family.

The mishmash of summer and winter clothes in the closet? Yep. Even the dreaded junk drawer? Consider it done. And the best news: it’s not hard to do—in fact, it’s a lot of fun. From the home organizers who made their orderly eye candy the method that everyone swears by comes Joanna and Clea’s signature approach to decluttering. When you’re done, you’ll not only know exactly where to find things, but you’ll also love the way it looks. A masterclass and look book in one, The Home Edit is filled with bright photographs and detailed tips, from placing plastic dishware in a drawer where little hands can reach to categorizing pantry items by color (there’s nothing like a little ROYGBIV to soothe the soul). Above all, it’s like having your best friends at your side to help you turn the chaos into calm. Includes a link to download and print the labels from a computer (you will need 8-1/2 x 11-inch clear repositionable sticker project paper, such as Avery 4397).

Today’s adolescents struggle with a range of issues, from anger and low self-esteem to depression and anxiety. In fact, research suggests that at any given time around 10 per cent of students will be suffering from a mental health issue that directly impacts on their education and health. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) (the subject of Dr Russ Harris’s bestselling 'The Happiness Trap') has been proven to be effective in teaching young people effective, flexible strategies for dealing with the stressors in their life and, as in 'I Just Want to be … Me!', these principles are once again brought to life in graphic novel form. By following the main character, Andy, through his encounter with the Beast (symbolising his inner anger, hurt, fear and resentment), teenagers will learn how to similarly deal with their own issues and develop a more resilient mental attitude and achieve better emotional balance.

The following collection of Love Letters in this book are from Rita, who lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; after she came from Naples, Italy. . I had met Rita in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the early-50's, when I was also living there. After we had gone out for a couple of years, in January, 1955, I was enlisted in the Army and sent to Camp Gordon, Georgia; and I was not able to spend close time with Rita. As I try to recall, it was about 1955 that Rita started writing the Love Letters to me; and they continued as I was moved to Fort Monmouth, N.J. and then to Camp Devon, MA. And so, the following paragraphs in this book make up the summary of the collection of Rita's Love Letters which cry out to me. Rita also would often tell me, 'I just can't stop thinking of you.' Now again, it saddens me to think and realize that I did not respond positively to Rita's motivating suggestions of us getting married. And so, after I had helped her to get a High School Diploma, she traveled back to Italy with a U. S. Government's job.
