This audiobook provides legal briefs for the top 100 cases that have formed the foundation of evidence law in the United States. Each case brief will cover the facts, procedural history, issue, holding, rule, reasoning, disposition, dissents, or concurrences. Evidence law can be one of the most difficult areas to study in the law. This audiobook will go over some of the most important cases that have shaped evidence law over the decades. You'll learn everything from jurisdiction, venue, how to plead a complaint properly, and even an overview of class actions. The most important part of each case will be the holding and rationale, so you can use these cases to apply to future fact patterns you encounter both in studying for a bar exam or practicing the law. Also included is our evidence law course outline. This outline is detailed and comprehensive, covering everything you might expect to learn in a typical law school evidence law course.

Excerpt from Leading Cases on the Law of Evidence With Notes It is believed that this table of contents, read together with the headnotes, will give a fairly complete outline of the Law of Evidence. With regard to the facts involved in the cases, in some instances they do not appear in the Reports, the point of Evidence only being stated. In other cases the facts are quite immaterial to the point of Evidence involved, and it has been thought better to omit them, together with such portions of the judgments as refer only to such facts and throw no light upon the point of Evidence. The purchase of this ebook edition does not entitle you to receive access to the Connected eBook with Study Center on CasebookConnect. You will need to purchase a new print book to get access to the full experience, including: lifetime access to the online ebook with highlight, annotation, and search capabilities; practice questions from your favorite study aids; an outline tool and other helpful resources. Evidence Under the Rules: Text, Cases, and Problems is one of the?most widely adopted Evidence casebooks ever published. Structured around the Federal Rules of Evidence, the book contains carefully edited cases and secondary materials, as well as numerous problems that allow students to apply new concepts during classroom exercises or on their own. Text boxes provide interesting background on select cases and additional perspectives on key issues. New to the 10th Edition: Additional problems are provided, and often these are combined into the Notes following cases and other materials. These problems generate good classroom discussion, without displacing conversations about the cases and the principles under consideration. The book is also redesigned, with more colors on the page, and other design features that provide clues to the content of the textual material. The Note material, found after cases and textual accounts, includes organizational headings that act as signposts calling the attention of students to the key issues. The book retains the old favorites, like Boys on the Bridge (Problem 2-C), A Papier Mache Man (Problem 3-I), and “If You Want to Stay Healthy (Problem 4_Q). New end-of-chapter quizzes are included to help in the review of the materials. A thoroughly updated and expanded Index. Benefits for instructors and students: Introductory text that provides a foundation for understanding the cases and materials that follow. Numerous problems that treat cutting-edge issues, allowing students to apply important concepts to contemporary evidentiary problems. A Teacher’s Manual that provides suggestions by the authors for discussing the Notes and cases. “Comment/Perspective” text boxes that provide broader perspectives to aid in understanding doctrine. Sidebars that contain photographs and text relating to important cases, offering background on how the evidence issue arose.

Excerpt from Leading Cases and Statutes on the Law of Evidence This book was originally intended for the use of students only. I now find, however, that it has been extensively used by practitioners, especially at Quarter Sessions, as presenting, in a handy form, the substance of cases constantly referred to. In order to make it more worthy of the attention thus bestowed on it, I have now considerably supplemented it. The chief additional feature of this edition is the collection of Statutes on Evidence, forming Part II. Of the book. I have taken much trouble to select all the important statutory provisions relating to evidence, including those contained in statutes dealing with other matters but having special provisions as to evidence. I believe this collection to be the fullest in existence on the subject. I have not attempted to make it absolutely complete, as it would be useless, and wasteful of space, to insert some of the provisions on special matters. But I believe that every statutory provision on the subject, likely to be required, will be found in the collection, except those relating to procedure, with which I do not profess to deal. Some of the provisions given are of small importance in themselves, but they serve to illustrate points or rules stated in other portions of the book. This book examines the legal and moral theory behind the law of evidence and proof, arguing that only by exploring the nature of responsibility in fact-finding can the role and purpose of much of the law be fully understood. Ho argues that the court must not only find the truth to do justice, it must do justice in finding the truth.
