For millennia, ancient factions of wizards have closely guarded the secrets of liquid fire--distilled from the blood of dragons and the magical key to unbelievably powerful spells. Now, Dakota's flirtation with a fireweaver while visiting San Francisco engulfs her in a magicial feud. Forced to defend herself with her masterwork, a powerful dragon tattoo, Dakota becomes the target of superstitious magicians who believe she's summoned the spirit of a dragon . . . the first step in an incredibly dangerous spell that could create more liquid fire. Soon, Dakota finds herself caught in a magical battle between ageless wizards desperate to seize the rapidly dwindling supply of liquid fire and fireweaver terrorists who'll stop at nothing to keep every last drop of it for themselves. Even if that means killing Dakota. The race is on to find the truth about liquid fire, the secret behind Dakota's magic tattoos, and the message hidden in the fireweaver's secret codes--before the world goes up in flames. Filled with spectacular magic, pyrotechnic action, and kinky romance, LIQUID FIRE is the action-packed third installment in the Dakota Frost, Skindancer series. Epic Award winner Anthony Francis writes the Skindancer series while working on robots for "the Search Engine Which Starts with a 'G'."

But the innocent Livia is not without friends, even if they are only slaves belonging to her husband. Safety in the process industries is critical for those who work with chemicals and hazardous substances or processes. The field of loss prevention is, and continues to be, of supreme importance to countless companies, municipalities and governments around the world, and Lees’ is a detailed reference to defending against hazards. Recognized as the standard work for chemical and process engineering safety professionals, it provides the most complete collection of information on the theory, practice, design elements, equipment, regulations and laws covering the field of process safety. An entire library of alternative books (and cross-referencing systems) would be needed to replace or improve upon it, but everything of importance to safety professionals, engineers and managers can be found in this all-encompassing three volume reference instead. The process safety encyclopedia, trusted worldwide for over 30 years Now available in print and online, to aid searchability and portability Over 3,600 print pages cover the full scope of process safety and loss prevention, compiling theory, practice, standards, legislation, case studies and lessons learned in one resource as opposed to multiple sources

From a religio-historical perspective, 2Maccabees should be considered a watershed narrative—one that describes the threat of Hellenisation to traditional Jewish religious society. However, by the time 2Macc was written (c. 124 BCE), Judaism had already been greatly Hellenised and, quite ironically, the Jewish opponents to Hellenisation were deliberately employing Greek rhetorical and literary competencies to combat supposedly iniquitous Greek influences. Accordingly, 2Macc has intrigued scholars since at least the nineteenth century. Here, research has variously focused on the grammatical-historical approach (1891 to 1949), the socio- economical approach (1959 to 1985), and the ubiquitous impact of Hellenisation (1986 to 2012). The chapters in this book reflect post-2012 insights of nine prominent scholars dedicated to presenting some of the very latest findings in the context of 2Macc research. Here, they make use of some of the latest methods, with particular emphasis on narratology and rhetoric. This book, which offers a wide spectrum of the latest theological insights into Second Temple Judaism, should be considered an essential source for serious Biblical scholars.

"Fire Behavior and Combustion Processes was designed to provide a straight-forward yet comprehensive resource for students enrolled in fire science degree programs, or as a refresher for active firefighters. It provides an understanding of the basic principles of fire chemistry, the processes of fire combustion, and fire behavior. The subject of fire behavior is often a complex one, and this book seeks to clarify theoretical concepts, explain their importance, and illustrate how they can be applied in a practical way when responding to emergency situations"--
