Jerome is a slave. He must wake every morning to the knowledge that he is a piece of property belonging to Alfred Campbell, a plantation owner. But things are changing. There are rumblings in the slave community about abolition and Jerome begins to look forward to the day when he will be a free man. That day cannot come too soon as he has fallen in love with Anita, Alfred's daughter. Their love cannot remain a secret forever and is under increasing pressure from Jerome's relationship with Alice, another slave. As the drama moves to its inexorable conclusion, Jerome is faced with a host of choices: will he choose Alice or Anita, poverty or wealth, slavery or freedom. Only Jerome can decide.

heart beat I'm going to have a baby… Maybe it was the hormones of early pregnancy doing a number on her, but one minute Maggie Macintyre was paddling her canoe downriver and the next a half-naked man seemed to fall from the sky, toppling her into the churning water! Before she could panic, the daredevil with the hard bronze body and long raven hair wrapped his arms around her in a lifesaving embrace. The minute they touched, though, she responded to him as if her were her longtime lover, and the new life growing inside her stirred as if he recognized his daddy. But how could that be, when she'd never seen this stranger before in her life?

Originally called Wisauksicken and Wisamickon by the Lenni Lenape tribe of southeastern Pennsylvania, the creek was renamed Wissahickon by European settlers in the late 1600s. The Wissahickon, beginning as a small stream fed by underground springs in central Montgomery County, winds its way down into a breathtaking valley in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park before entering the Schuylkill River. Rich in history and scenic beauty, the creek has played a major part in the development of the area. Early mills were established along its banks, and during the American Revolution, Washington's army set up encampments in the creek valley. Since becoming part of Fairmount Park in 1868, the Wissahickon has continued to be the focus of land preservation and is now part of the Wissahickon Green Ribbon Preserve.

If they looked, would they ever leap? Good-looking, confident, and doted on by his widowed mum, Michael is used to thinking only of himself. Getting shoved off an Isle of Wight pier by an exasperated ex ought to come as a wake-up call—but then he meets Rufus and he’s right back to letting the little head take charge. Rufus is cute, keen, and gets under Michael’s skin in a disturbing way. Would-be chef Rufus can’t believe his luck when a dripping wet dream of a man walks out of the sea on his birthday, especially when Michael ends up staying at the family B&B. Life is perfect—at least until Michael has to go home to the mainland. Rufus can’t leave the island for reasons he’s entirely neglected to mention. And though Michael identifies as bi, breaking his mum’s heart by coming out and having an actual relationship with a guy has never been his plan. With both men determined to keep their secrets, a leap of faith could land them in deep water. *** "Merrow delivers a fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek tale full of memorable secondary characters, romantic chemistry, and local scenery." –Publishers Weekly
