There is reflected efforts of climate change within the framework of states, international institutions and entities in order to minimise a change in the Earths temperature. Attempts have been demonstrated in the area provided by early and recent contributions within the Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement with commitments for interested sites of participant countries. In the meantime, the contents of the book include the investigations of authors and contributions of other scientists, researches and specialists in climate change. It provides additional information in understanding the process. There is some answer as to how and where there are sensitive areas to be considered in the measurement and observation stage of investigations, which could be helpful in decision making by authorities. We do hope materials that the materials presented in the book chapters will be useful for specialists and authorities involved in the study and use of outcomes for climate changes based on Earth observations. In addition to providing a brief account on nexus thinking and how it may help us tackle issues important to the world community such as food security, the book presents the environmental resource perspective of three main aspects of global change: climate change, urbanization, and population growth. Taking as its point of departure the thematic discussions of the Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC 2015) held in March 2015, the book presents the perspectives of a number of thought leaders on how the nexus approach could contribute to sustainable environmental resource management. The first chapter provides an introduction to the issues and consent of the book. Chapters 2 and 3 focus on climate change adaptation. Chapters 4 and 5 discuss the role of urbanization as a main driver of global change. The starting point for this book is that actors within transboundary water management institutions develop responses to the climate change debate, as distinct from the physical phenomenon of climate change. Actors respond to this debate broadly in three distinct ways – adapt, resist (as in avoiding the issue) and subvert (as in using the debate to fulfil their own agenda). The book charts approaches which have been taken over the past two decades to promote more effective water management institutions, covering issues of conflict, cooperation, power and law. A new framework for a better understanding of the interaction between transboundary water management institutional resilience and global change is developed through analysis of the way these institutions respond to the climate change debate. This framework is applied to six river case studies from Africa, Asia and the Middle East (Ganges-Brahmaputra, Jordan, Mekong, Niger, Nile, Orange-Senqu) from which learning conclusions and policy recommendations are developed.
