The project was initiated by the former Finnish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2016 and was funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. All Nordic statistical institutes – Statistics Denmark, Statistics Iceland, Statistics Norway and Statistics Sweden – participated in the project which was coordinated by Statistics Finland. The project succeeded in producing the first ever systematic collection of Nordic statistics on mobility that includes all five Nordic countries.
