The extraordinary autobiography of astronaut Fred Haise, one of only 24 men to fly to the moon In the gripping Never Panic Early, Fred Haise, Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 13, offers a detailed firsthand account of when disaster struck three days into his mission to the moon. An oxygen tank exploded, a crewmate uttered the now iconic words, “Houston, we’ve had a problem here,” and the world anxiously watched as one of history’s most incredible rescue missions unfolded. Haise brings readers into the heart of his experience on the challenging mission--considered NASA’s finest hour--and reflects on his life and career as an Apollo astronaut. In this personal and illuminating memoir, illustrated with black-and-white photographs, Haise takes an introspective look at the thrills and triumphs, regrets and disappointments, and lessons that defined his career, including his years as a military fighter pilot and his successful 20-year NASA career that would have made him the sixth man on the moon had Apollo 13 gone right. Many of his stories navigate fear, hope, and resilience, like when he crashed while ferrying a World War II air show aircraft and suffered second and third-degree burns over 65 percent of his body, putting him in critical condition for ten days before making a heroic recovery. In Never Panic Early, Haise explores what it was like to work for NASA in its glory years and demonstrates a true ability to deal with the unexpected.

Red Cashion is quite possibly the most universally liked referee in NFL history. Fans loved him; coaches respected him; players joked with him; and league executives applauded him for adding flavor with his trademark "first dooowwwnnn" call. Long before he worked three Super Bowls and became the only official ever to be named the All-Madden team, Cashion nearly gave up on his NFL dreams. He began officiating junior high games in 1952 while still a student at Texas A&M, but he was fired by the Southland Conference for being too robotic and dull. Nevertheless, Cashion scheduled a January 1972 trip to New York to meet with Art McNally, the Director of Officiating for the NFL. McNally listened politely and then delicately told Cashion there were no openings. Cashion left that day with a broken heart, believing the dream was officially over. But an NFL official was killed during the summer of '72 and McNally offered Cashion the job because he'd taken such a bold risk by traveling to New York. The rest is NFL history, as Cashion's No. 43 uniform became as familiar to many fans at NFL stadiums as some of the players. Red's feel-good life story packs a powerfully enthusiastic punch.

Jesus, The Way Out addresses the issue of panic attacks on a very personal level. Using relevant portions of Scripture and dictionary definitions to provide a clearer understanding of the message being conveyed, the author offers hope as well as answers based on her own struggles and victories. Jesus, The Way Out gives the reader a personal view of the author's experiences with panic attacks leading up to her miraculous inner healing by the Holy Spirit. This book will help you understand what God has in store for you as a Christian: a life free from Anxiety, Panic, and Fear. You will also understand the basis of Christianity, which many of us do not take to heart. We put unrealistic expectations on ourselves: "There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death" (Proverbs 14:12). God's way is just the opposite. Lilli Carter was raised a Catholic. She suffered with panic attacks for twelve years, and she also struggled with a poor self-image and depression before finding her WAY OUT - through Jesus. She has been married forty-one years; she and her husband live in Orange County, CA and have two grown children. Lilli now enjoys the grace and mercy that God had intended for her from the beginning of her walk as a Christian. When she placed her confidence in God, she learned that obedience, along with the knowledge of God's Word, does indeed bring a valuable reward.

Do you have rushes of fear accompanied by a pounding heart, trembling, dizziness, and feelings of unreality that make you think you're sick, dying, or losing your mind? Do these feelings interfere with your normal daily routine, or prevent you from doing things you would normally do? If you are prone to panic attacks and constantly worry about when the next attack may come, you may suffer from panic disorder and/or agoraphobia. Though panic disorder seems irrational and uncontrollable, it has been proven that a treatment like the one outlined in this book can help you take control of your life. Now in its 4th edition, Mastery of Your Anxiety and Panic, Workbook has been updated to include strategies and techniques for dealing with both panic disorder and agoraphobia. The program outlined is based on the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and is organized by skill, with each chapter building on the one before it. You will learn the importance of record-keeping and monitoring your progress, as well as breathing techniques and thinking skills.
