Quâbec is mobilised to become an innovation and entrepreneurial leader in North America, giving higher education institutions (HEIs) a central role in this drive. HEIs are pivotal in developing skills and nurturing talent, connecting and contributing to their communities, including firms, public authorities and civil society. The Stratâgie quâbâcoise de recherche et d'investissement en innovation (SQRI) has placed HEIs at the fore front of the provincial innovation and entrepreneurship efforts, including with an explicit spatial approach, through the 'innovation zones'. This review assesses the 'geography of higher education' in Quâbec through the examination of ten case study HEIs. These case studies represent examples of innovative and entrepreneurial HEIs that support entrepreneurship and innovation in their communities. In particular, the case studies tell the story of the province of Quâbec in creating sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation, connecting actors and mobilising resources and policies. The review offers actionable policy recommendations to generate further progress in this direction

Interdisciplinary in terms of both its coverage and contributions, The Routledge Handbook of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Management in the Hospitality Industry provides an informative and systematic guide to the current state of knowledge on workforce diversity and its management. Providing empirical knowledge and reflective practice on diversity issues and their management in the hospitality industry, this handbook includes chapters written by a plethora of experts in the diversity management (DM) field, including scholars, academics, and industry experts, such as managers from leading hospitality industry firms. Logically structured and embellished with illustrative figures throughout, the volume provides critical reviews and an appraisal of current research and the future development of conceptual and theoretical approaches to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) management in the hospitality industry, including dimensions of diversity in hospitality, such as gender, cultural/ethnic, age, disability, sexual orientation, and Indigenous workers. Elucidative examples are used from different countries such as Australia, Austria, Canada, Japan, United Arab Emirates, and India, and the volume takes a solution-based approach, providing future directions for emerging diversity researchers. Global in perspective, this book is a pivotal teaching resource for academics, an illustrative reference resource for Ph.D. students and early career researchers who work on workforce diversity and a practical guide for managers and HR consultants. It will also appeal to wider audiences, including those in tourism, recreation and leisure studies, and other professional fields.

Better skills policies help build economic resilience, boost employment and reinforce social cohesion. The OECD Skills Strategy provides countries with a framework to analyse their skills strengths and challenges. Each OECD Skills Strategy diagnostic report reflects a set of skills challenges identified by broad stakeholder engagement and OECD comparative evidence while offering concrete examples of how other countries have tackled similar skills challenges. These reports tackle questions such as: How can countries maximise their skills potential? How can they improve their performance in developing relevant skills, activating skills supply and using skills effectively? What is the benefit of a whole-of-government approach to skills? How can governments build stronger partnerships with employers, trade unions, teachers and students to deliver better skills outcomes? OECD Skills Strategy diagnostic reports provide new insights into these questions and help identify the core components of successful skills strategies. This report is part of the OECD's ongoing work on building effective national and local skills strategies.
