It also details all the different stages soldiers in basic training go through to achieve initial qualification. The point of the manual is not to enable someone to be Rambo but to take what is at best a complex subject and make it understandable for someone who has never held a weapon in their life. The goal is to make competent shooters out of inexperienced civilians and the Army rifle training program does that.
