Opportunities are limitless and abundant. The problem is, many people can't recognise them. It can feel like opportunity doesn't knock for you, or other people get more opportunities, or you have bad luck and timing. You just need to know where to look. How to ask. When to ACT. Opportunity can be a window or a door; sometimes it opens right in front of you and sometimes it knocks. You need to be ready: windows, doors and eyes open. Are you waiting for that once-in-a-lifetime or business opportunity to change your life? How will you know when it comes? How will you be sure it's right for you? This book is not about waiting for an opportunity. It's a book containing strategies that can be employed immediately, ensuring you attract opportunities abundantly, both big and small, and you're ready to recognise and take them. To turn ideas into opportunities. Successful people often make their own luck - they find success because they have trained their minds to recognise great opportunities and make the most of them, rather than freezing with uncertainty or lacking the vision to see them through. They know the opportunity cost of not taking them. In this book you'll learn how to spot, seize and implement the right opportunities, and how to say NO to the wrong ones. You'll learn to take fast and slow opportunities. When opportunity appears you'll be ready to take advantage, seize the day, and win at life.

"Gen Z has an appreciation for innovation. They approach life as a blank canvas waiting to be transformed into a magnificent piece of art." Opportunity Day: Empowering Voices of the Next Generation follows author Unnati Gupta as she explores why Gen Z and young adults struggle to be heard in an age where communication is instant. Bringing in stories and viewpoints from experts, relevant research, and members of Gen Z, Gupta displays the struggles Gen Z faces today while also examining the power and potential the young generation holds. The world is changing rapidly, yet we are held to archaic standards of education and society. It is now more important than ever to give young voices the chance to speak up, and Opportunity Day explores some of the most effective avenues. Whether it's in high school, the workplace, or in day-to-day connections, there are so many ways to inspire and encourage Gen Z voices. If you want to join in and help build a better world, or if you yourself are a member of Gen Z looking for answers, this book is for you.

This volume is intended for reference by the commercial sugar cane grower. Disciplines are covered for the successful production of a sugar cane crop. A number of good books exist on field practices related to the growing of sugar cane. Two examples are R.P. Humbert's The Growing of Sugar Cane and Alex G. Alexander's Sugarcane Physiology. Volumes of technical papers, produced regularly by the International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists, are also a source of reference. Perhaps foremost, local associations, such as the South African Sugar Technologists' Association, do excellent work in this regard. In my forty-five years of experience with the day-to-day problems of producing a satisfactory crop of sugar cane, deciding what should be done to produce such a crop was not straightforward. Although the literature dealing with specific subjects is extensive, I tried to consolidate some of the material to provide the man in the field with information, or an overview of the subject matter.

This book explores a widely lived yet little remembered facet of America's cultural and political history: the Cold War as experienced at the grassroots level. Here, Fried traces the cresting of modern patriotic observance during World War II and then shows how patriotic and civic activists afterwards labored to recreate a remembered unity and commitment in the tension-filled Cold War era. A variety of national and local entities mounted campaigns "to sell America to the Americans" through "rededication" celebrations like Know Your America Week and Freedom Week. The American Heritage Foundation wheeled out the Freedom Train, which carried seminal documents of the nation's past to railroad depots across the US. Fried revisits the 1950 "Communist invasion" of Mosinee, Wisconsin, when ersatz Stalinists harassed and bullied citizens and the town's eateries served only potato soup and black bread. He also depicts the creation and inauguration of new patriotic events like Loyalty Day and Armed Forces Day. Meticulously researched, this book recreates a colorful, sometimes comical, and always revealing dimension of our history.
