Years ago, an elder in the church told me that an older preacher had told him that worldliness was the greatest threat facing the Lord's church. Things have not changed.Just as church members, because of where they walk, bring dirt into the church building on the bottoms of their shoes, so also, because of how some members choose to live, they bring the world into the church. Converts often come into the Lord's church without fully abandoning their worldly ways. Some who are raised in the church long to enjoy the sinful pleasures of the world around them. Some elders turn blind eyes; some preachers speak in generalities without making specific applications; and the sin in the church worsens. When we hear a Christian say, "I don't see anything wrong with dancing, drinking in moderation, playing the lottery, or wearing revealing clothing," we know that person's moral compass is aligned with the world, not with Scripture. However, these days we also hear, "I see nothing wrong with getting a tattoo;" "we shouldn't be so condemning of homosexuals;" or "I caught my husband viewing pornography!" Today's church is suffering through the drug epidemic that is impacting the world around us. Adultery is common, even among preachers, elders, and deacons. Divorce among brethren occurs at an alarming rate. Through their social media posts, Christians often reflect a love for the world. No, things have not changed. Satan is still having his way with many of God's people. In this workbook, we consider numerous forms of worldliness that trouble God's people. The lessons look at how these various practices violate the standards God has clearly set forth in His word, and then consider what we can do to overcome these challenges in our lives. The final lesson addresses the importance of maintaining our influence and reputations in this world.

This is a must-read before you consider divorcing your partner. The book can help you create a happy, lasting, and successful marriage and prevent divorce. Marriage is not a fairytale and divorce is not always the best solution. Every marriage goes through hard times and yours is not an exception. Divorce is common but it can be prevented or avoided. As William Shatner rightly said, “Divorce is probably as painful as death.” It comes as no surprise that God hates divorce. It does not matter where you are, what you have been through, or the current situation of your marriage, there is hope. When a person is considering divorce, they typically want to know if one really can prevent divorce. Yes, you can prevent the divorce. There is still time to save your marriage. This book will help you know what to do to prevent divorce. Let God, not culture or selfishness, have the final say in your marriage. Matthew N. O. Sadiku is a professor emeritus at Prairie View A & M University, Prairie View, Texas. He is the author of over 970 professional articles and over 95 books including Secrets of Successful Marriages, Enemies of Your Marriage, and commentaries on all the books of the New Testament Bible. His books are used worldwide, and some of them have been translated into Korean, Chinese, Italian, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Janet O. Sadiku studied nursing science from 1975 to 1980 at the University of Ife, now known as Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. She has worked as a nurse, educator, and church minister in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Canada. She is presently retired with her husband in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The nineteen essays that form this pioneering volume of comparative philosophy represent an exchange of ideas among specialists in Neoplatonism and specialists in Indian thought. These scholars have examined concepts and assertions that appear to be common to both philosophical traditions, as well as the possible historical influence of Indian sources upon late Greek philosophy, and specifically upon the Alexandrine Platonists. While most of the essays refer to Hinduism, several of them contain general surveys.

It was Owen's earnest regard that his readers should be brought into a condition of safety against the wiles of the devil, to break the force of his warnings and entreaties by ingenious speculations and irrelevant learning. Not merely in the warm appeals interspersed with his expositions, but in the patient care with which no nook of the heart is left unsearched, does the deep solicitude of Owen for the spiritual welfare of his readers appear. To one who reads the treatise in the spirit with which the author wrote it, --simply that he may judge his own heart, and know what temptation means, and be fully on his guard against it
