True religion confronts earth with heaven and brings eternity to bear upon time. The messenger of Christ, though he speaks from God, must also, as the Quakers used to say, "speak to the condition" of his hearers; otherwise he will speak a language known only to himself. His message must be not only timeless but timely. He must speak to his own generation. This book is packed with truth, giving the insight on how the Holy Spirit is the power behind the Church, the Christian life, and the sustainability needed to follow Jesus.

We present in these pages an outline, which may at least serve to suggest the way to a greater spiritual power for many of us. Or, as the title intimates, each major idea may be a "path" leading to a life of abundant grace promised in the Sacred Word. Let us remember that a path is merely a way toward something; it can never be the thing itself. A knowledge of the truth is not enough; the truth must be followed if we would realize in actual experience the blessedness which is here described.

"These chapters came into being over a period of about five years and were written in many places and under a variety of interesting circumstances. They are in no sense quiet religious essays, but were born in the midst of life; and while they have, as I hope, heaven in full view, they are never too far removed from the rough world where the children of God struggle and work and pray."

Good Presse presents to you this meticulously edited A. W. Tozer collection, The Pursuit of the Devine: Paths to Power The Pursuit of God The Divine Conquest How to be Filled with the Holy Spirit The Root of the Righteous The Knowledge of the Holy "The Pursuit of God" is an inspirational guide for Christians seeking to get closer to God. The author identifies one of the major problems of the Christian Church. He suggests that the Church is making a new type of Christian who understands the Christian doctrine better than ever throughout the history, but still fails to understand what it really means to be a follower of Christ. Having identified the problem, Tozer offers a beautiful solution that is more practical and mystical than theological. He encourages the Christian to take the seeking of God and make it the foundation upon which their life is built. Being a mystic, he focuses on experience, feeling and hearing God's voice as important to faith. "The Divine Conquest" was written as a sequel to "The Pursuit of God" with the aim of assuring the believers that if they want to know the power of Christ, they must be invaded by God.

Good Press presents to you this meticulously edited George Müller collection. "The word of God alone is our standard of judgment in spiritual things... the Holy Spirit alone can teach us about our state by nature, show us the need of a Saviour, enable us to believe in Christ, explain to us the Scriptures, help us in preaching, etc. The first evening that I shut myself into my room, to give myself to prayer and meditation over the Scriptures, I learned more in a few hours than I had done during a period of several months previously. But the particular difference was, that I received real strength for my soul in doing so." George Müller (1805-1898) was a Christian evangelist and the director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England. He cared for 10,024 orphans during his lifetime, and provided educational opportunities for the orphans to the point that he was even accused by some of raising the poor above their natural station in British life. He established 117 schools which offered Christian education to more than 120,000. The theology that guided George Müller's work was shaped by an experience in his middle twenties when he "came to prize the Bible alone as his standard of judgement". Müller wrote frequently about the stewardship of money and the non-reliance on earthly riches, and how God would bless the man who kept to these principles, and felt that laying his own experiences bare would prove the truth of his claims. His personal income, from unsolicited gifts (he refused any kind of salary) rose from £151 in 1831 to more than £2,000 in 1870. However, he retained only around £300 a year for himself and his family, the rest he gave away. Müller's faith in God strengthened day by day and he spent hours in daily prayer and Bible reading. The Practice of Piety is a classic of devotional and edification literature that offers readers insight into faith in the early 17th century. The author, Lewis Bayly, urges the reader to contemplate his own position of sinfulness and decay in light of God's grace. The book centers on ways to meditate and pray in the face of death, illness, and the challenges of everyday life. While author's approach may seem anachronistic from the modern point of view, there is much that can still enrich one's spiritual and devotional life today.

"It was only after the consideration of many months and after much self-examination as to my motives, and after much earnest prayer, that I came to the conclusion to write this work. I have not taken one single step in the Lord's service, concerning which I have prayed so much. My great dislike to increasing the number of religious books would, in itself, have been sufficient to have kept me forever from it, had I not cherished the hope of being instrumental in this way to lead some of my brethren to value the Holy Scriptures more, and to judge by the standard of the word of God the principles on which they act."
