Jarl Henderson, a 25 year old geneticist, is thrust into the quantum realm at Jesus' request to travel the universe and retrieve items relevant to the fast-approaching end of the age. The last item is the most dangerous to recover - the Revelation 19 sword that Jesus will use at his return. Will he lose everything he holds dear to deliver it?

An improbable heroine with an impossible task and a Universe in the balance... It's the day after Armageddon. Now what? Aneera Henderson knows. She is one of an elite force of Universe Healers. As a former Emergency Room technician, she's seen every kind of trauma. But nothing prepared her for the shambles the entire Universe is in from Satan's rebellion. Her brother, Jarl, delivered the Revelation 19 sword to Jesus, who used it to put a decisive end to the rebellion at the epic battle of Armageddon on Earth. A new era has begun. Satan has been cast into the Abyss for a thousand years, but he left a tragic mess behind. Aneera, along with the enigmatic Quinn and other Universe Healers, faces deception, ambush, and vicious assaults from the remnants of the rebellion hiding throughout the Universe. Will they be able to complete the restoration of the Universe in the allotted seven years? And will Aneera uncover the mystery of Quinn's disappearance before he's lost to her forever?

Today we are blessed with two extraordinarily successful theories of physics. The first is Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity, which describes the large-scale behaviour of matter in a curved spacetime. This theory is the basis for the standard model of big bang cosmology. The discovery of gravitational waves at the LIGO observatory in the US (and then Virgo, in Italy) is only the most recent of this theory's many triumphs. The second is quantum mechanics. This theory describes the properties and behaviour of matter and radiation at their smallest scales. It is the basis for the standard model of particle physics, which builds up all the visible constituents of the universe out of collections of quarks, electrons and force-carrying particles such as photons. The discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN in Geneva is only the most recent of this theory's many triumphs. But, while they are both highly successful, these two structures leave a lot of important questions unanswered. They are also based on two different interpretations of space and time, and are therefore fundamentally incompatible. We have two descriptions but, as far as we know, we've only ever had one universe. What we need is a quantum theory of gravity. Approaches to formulating such a theory have primarily followed two paths. One leads to String Theory, which has for long been fashionable, and about which much has been written. But String Theory has become mired in problems. In this book, Jim Baggott describes ": an approach which takes relativity as its starting point, and leads to a structure called Loop Quantum Gravity. Baggott tells the story through the careers and pioneering work of two of the theory's most prominent contributors, Lee Smolin and Carlo Rovelli. Combining clear discussions of both quantum theory and general relativity, this book offers one of the first efforts to explain the new quantum theory of space and time.

For thousands of years humans have flirted with understanding space. But now it seems there are so many loose ends in 20th century physics that we are forced to have a closer look at this thing we call space. What we do know from where we stand today, is that virtually everything we thought we knew about space because of our 'common sense' actually turns out to be mostly wrong when you look at the details. This book is a guide to how this search is moving forward, from our common sense ideas to the frontiers of quantum gravity and black hole research.

High above the windswept plains of Kazakhstan, a Russian Soyuz capsule drops toward Earth. Onboard are three astronauts returning from the International Space Station. A strange shimmer in the atmosphere, a blinding flash of light, and the capsule vanishes in a blink as though it never existed. On the ground, stress levels spike as evidence points to a catastrophic reentry failure. But more than an hour later, a communications facility in Australia picks up a voice transmission that sounds like one of the astronauts. The voice of a dead man? In Washington, the National Security Advisor launches a team to investigate. The reentry tragedy could be something else and a classified government project on the cutting edge of quantum physics may hold the clues. With astronauts' lives on the line, there is little time to waste. Daniel Rice is a government science investigator. Marie Kendrick is a NASA operations analyst. Together, they must track down the cause of what could be the most bizarre event in the history of human spaceflight. They draw on scientific strengths in an intense plunge deep into the strange world of quantum physics, with impacts not only to the three missing astronauts, but to the entire human race.
