In this relation acquaintance early ripened into friendship, a friendship which deepened as the months came and went, and which has not lessened during the varied activities and the more numerous cares and responsibilities which have been crowded into the life of each. He was a young man of pleasing presence, pure speech, sweet spirit, tender sympathies, devout life, and true as steel. His student and church life, while at the Seminary, was an inspiration and a benediction to his associates and friends.
