In this “exhilarating yet poignant account of one boy taking flight” (Shelf Awareness, starred review), one of rock music's most entrancing figures transforms the vividness of his musical world into an unforgettable literary account of overcoming the odds and finding his true voice. Long before hitting the stage as the lead singer of the iconic glam rock band Scissor Sisters, Jake Shears was Jason Sellards, a teenage boy living a fraught life, resulting in a difficult time in high school as his classmates bullied him and few teachers showed sympathy. It wasn’t until years later, while living and studying in New York City, that Jason would find his voice as an artist and, with a group of friends and musicians who were also thirsting for stardom and freedom, form the band Scissor Sisters. First performing in the smoky gay nightclubs of New York, then finding massive success in the United Kingdom, Scissor Sisters would become revered by the LGBTQ community, sell out venues worldwide, and win multiple accolades with hits like “Take Your Mama” and “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’,” as well as their cult-favorite cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.” “Brutally honest” (Elton John), candid, and courageous, Shears’s writing sings with the same powerful, spirited presence that he brings to his live performances. Boys Keep Swinging is “a wild, sexy, emotional ride through underground New York at the millennium. From the fringes to the top, it's a tale that speaks to the outsider in all of us” (Andy Cohen).

William Shepherd ("Billy Shears") took over The Beatles and the McCartney estate on 16 September 1966, going from "Billy Pepper" of Billy Pepper and the Pepper Pots, to The Beatles' new "Sgt. Pepper" of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Taking creative control of the band from John made William "the new boss," saving the band, but tormenting all involved. The Memoirs is the source of the "Paul is Dead" material reprinted in Billy's Back! and of the insights in Beatles Enlightenment, but also includes the darker aspects: Paulism, Satanism, and Biblical humor--calling The Beatles the four-headed 666 Beast. The Memoirs is the first fully encoded full-length book. As part of that encoding, it contains the world's largest acrostic, and is the world's premier of word-stacking. By reading The Memoirs, you will learn the secret meanings of their songs, and will recognize Paul and William's distinct physical differences, personality differences, and vast differences in musical skills.

American Scissors and Shears provides an historical overview of more than 100 companies and individuals involved in producing scissors and shears in the United States from the mid-1800s to approximately 1930. Accompanying and enhancing the text are hundreds of photographs, advertisements, and patents of the many varieties of antique and vintage scissors produced during this time period. The book will prove invaluable to tool collectors, cutlery collectors (including knives and scissors), sewing enthusiasts, history buffs in general, and to those interested in early American industries. Some books have provided broad overviews of the history of scissors; others have investigated sewing implements, including scissors. None to date have provided the in-depth survey of American-made scissors presented in American Scissors and Shears.

My name is Kaidance Monroe, and I'm cursed with the gift of sight. I see death. Bloody, violent death. Before it even happens. I was taken in by a mysterious benefactor, who wants to use my abilities to vanquish his oldest enemy. But the dark secrets in my new home drove me away. I don't know where I belong any more - with the fallen angel who has become my protector, or with the immortal deities that are determined for me to join their cause. All I know is I'm being hunted by an army of Zeus's soldiers, tracked by monstrous beasts that want to eat me alive, and running from the one person I want to be with. But when I find the Golden Shears, and claim the power to vanquish gods, everything will change.

Strong wind and vertical wind shear must be considered for design and operation of vehicles that will either operate in or penetrate the upper stratosphere and mesosphere. Global extremes of these atmosphere parameters are estimated in this report for altitudes above 30 km. For the Northern Hemisphere estimated 90, 95, and 99% winds, related to the windiest months and locations, are provided for altitudes between 30 and 80 km. Speed increases up to about 55 km and appears to decrease thereafter up to at least 75 or 80 km in November, December, and January. The 99% winds can be expected to approach 215 mps near 55 km at certain locations between latitudes 35 and 60N. For the Southern Hemisphere 90, 95, and 99% winds are provided for altitudes between 30 and 60 km. The 99% winds reach roughly 200 mps near 55 km. Since estimates for the Southern Hemisphere are not necessarily representative of either the windiest month or location, results are uncertain and speeds probably will be somewhat larger than indicated. For the same percentiles, 1-km thick vertical wind shears have been estimated for altitudes between 30 and 70 km. Shears generally increase, and maximum values tend to move equatorward with altitude. (Author).
