Stairway to Heaven: Grandma Has Gone Home is a heartwarming, reflective, and reassuring story that chronicles one child’s experience with the loss of a beloved grandparent. In this experience, Molly has lots of questions. Molly’s desire to make sense of her world without her grandma brings to light the reality that life is short and that there will never be a right time to say goodbye to a loved one. Lost in her world and making some sense of why our loved ones leave, she finds that there is a shimmering light of hope. Molly is better able to make sense of this difficult time by piecing together her memories of what it was like when Grandma was around. She begins to understand that her memories are what will carry her throughout the rest of her life as she learns to accept that Grandma will no longer be an integral part of it. Better yet, she learns that Grandma will be a constant and permanent memory that will remain in her heart forever.

Like the best of memoir writing, My Invisible Scars is alternately brutally honest, sad, triumphant, tense, motivating, uncomfortable, and unforgettable. Relying on journals that she has kept since childhood, Canadian author Willa-Mae E. Scot articulately recounts in (mostly) chronological order the highs and lows of her long life, beginning with her early childhood in a small Saskatchewan town. Willa-Mae writes candidly about terrible disappointments, life-threatening ordeals, and her incredible and unwavering determination to put aside countless negative experiences, and live, embrace, and enjoy life to the fullest. This memoir is a must-read book for anyone whose life has been derailed by the unexpected loss of a loved one, violence, family break-up, infidelity, addictions, abandonment, or by poor, sometimes non-existent, choices. Those who have suffered through trauma and struggled to put that trauma behind them will see their journey reflected in these pages and be reassured that, even when down at rock bottom, they can find a way to be happy again. My Invisible Scars is instructive and inspiring, enlightening and engaging, and a great testament to its author’s tremendous courage and forthrightness. Most of all it is a testament to her enviable ability to offer forgiveness to the many people who have hurt her, and then gracefully move forward in life.

When they did need to find us, our meeting place outside the school building was 'the Big Tree.' 'Wait at the Big Tree,' they told us. It's where they dropped us off and picked us up. After all these years that tree still stands at the corner of Cresent Street and Newtown Avenue in Astoria Queens. The school is gone, the nuns are gone, our parents and most of the family are now gone. There are no sounds of bells ringing, no kids lining up on the block, but that tree is still there. The only remaining vestige of my school days. It's funny and maybe a bit symbolic given the sanctity of this particular ground; that in a city a tree would out last a building and our very way of life.In the sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking saga of the Sirianni family of New York City, author Fran Sirianni captures the zeitgeist of a generation that was born in the 1950s, questioned things in the 1960s, and came of age in the 1970s. Fran's first person narrative tells the story of her family's arrival in the United States and how they embraced the opportunity of the America Dream to build a life of prosperity. When tragedy strikes, the family comes together to carry on, despite the uncertainty of the times in which they live.Wait at the Big Treeis a story of family, of loss, and of the inevitable change that occurs as we all come into our own.

Melinda (Simpson) Rust was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, her second child, who she named Leslie. Everything seemed okay until Leslie suddenly coughed and appeared to be choking. Then she stopped breathing and her lips turned blue. Little did Melinda know that she was showing symptoms of cystic fibrosis¿a hereditary disease that affects many vital organs in the body. The doctors said that the disease was debilitating and would limit Leslie¿s capability to do certain things normal children go through. They even say that she will not live past her childhood. Melinda refused to take their words and instead encouraged her daughter to live her life to the fullest and reach for her dreams. Although Leslie died at the young age of thirty-one, she was able to enjoy life and love. She even became a mother to a son. Living with an Angel is a story of love, faith, and hope between a mother and a daughter who both went through mental, physical, and emotional pains brought about by an incurable disease that slowly kills, and whose belief in God enabled them to cope and accept the inevitable fate of parting and dying.

From the New York Times bestselling author Kristin Hannah comes a powerful novel of love, loss, and the magic of friendship. . . . now a #1 Netflix series! In the turbulent summer of 1974, Kate Mularkey has accepted her place at the bottom of the eighth-grade social food chain. Then, to her amazement, the "coolest girl in the world" moves in across the street and wants to be her friend. Tully Hart seems to have it all---beauty, brains, ambition. On the surface they are as opposite as two people can be: Kate, doomed to be forever uncool, with a loving family who mortifies her at every turn. Tully, steeped in glamour and mystery, but with a secret that is destroying her. They make a pact to be best friends forever; by summer's end they've become TullyandKate. Inseparable. So begins Kristin Hannah's magnificent new novel. Spanning more than three decades and playing out across the ever-changing face of the Pacific Northwest, Firefly Lane is the poignant, powerful story of two women and the friendship that becomes the bulkhead of their lives. From the beginning, Tully is desperate to prove her worth to the world. Abandoned by her mother at an early age, she longs to be loved unconditionally. In the glittering, big-hair era of the eighties, she looks to men to fill the void in her soul. But in the buttoned-down nineties, it is television news that captivates her. She will follow her own blind ambition to New York and around the globe, finding fame and success . . . and loneliness. Kate knows early on that her life will be nothing special. Throughout college, she pretends to be driven by a need for success, but all she really wants is to fall in love and have children and live an ordinary life. In her own quiet way, Kate is as driven as Tully. What she doesn't know is how being a wife and mother will change her . . . how she'll lose sight of who she once was, and what she once wanted. And how much she'll envy her famous best friend. . . . For thirty years, Tully and Kate buoy each other through life, weathering the storms of friendship---jealousy, anger, hurt, resentment. They think they've survived it all until a single act of betrayal tears them apart . . . and puts their courage and friendship to the ultimate test. Firefly Lane is for anyone who ever drank Boone's Farm apple wine while listening to Abba or Fleetwood Mac. More than a coming-of-age novel, it's the story of a generation of women who were both blessed and cursed by choices. It's about promises and secrets and betrayals. And ultimately, about the one person who really, truly knows you---and knows what has the power to hurt you . . . and heal you. Firefly Lane is a story you'll never forget . . . one you'll want to pass on to your best friend.

I want to be your ray of sunshine and show you that you can go on and that life can truly be beautiful-one day and one step at a time. For as long as we wake up, we can listen to the music of life, and we can dance! So, dance till the music stops! Never Give Up and Never Give In You CAN reach the mountain top!
