The Irish Hellfire Club, the setting for many of these terrifying tales, is a foreboding hunting lodge built back in the early eighteenth century, perched atop the Dublin Mountains. People who ran the club drank and partied in the Devil's name and to the damnation of the church and the almighty God himself. It was because of this that, on a stormy night, a stranger arrives, seeking shelter. But when he joins in a game of cards, a member of the household drops a card and sees that below the table, the stranger has a cloven-hoof. In The Crossover, three friends on their way up to the Hellfire Club experience strange occurrences which have them questioning their own fate. In Never Touch What You Don't Understand, after using a Ouija board at the club, three friends find themselves in danger by an unseen menace controlling one of their minds. And an out of work security guard in A Night of Frights unwillingly takes the job of minding the Hellfire Club, but something doesn't want him to leave this job alive. Author Jason Stanbridge is a native of Ireland and has been writing since the age of thirteen. A natural storyteller, Jason is drawn to stories that scare people and things that go bump in the night. He is currently hard at work on his next collection of short stories. Publisher's Web site: http: //www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/title/TalesofTerrorfromtheIrishHellfireClub.html

Irish Ghost Stories contains stories that tell of spooky goings-on in almost every part of the country. They include the tales of the Wizard Earl of Kildare, the Scanlan Lights of Limerick, Buttoncap of Antrim, Maynooth College's haunted room, Loftus Hall in Wexford, and an account of how the poet Francis Ledwidge appeared to an old friend in County Meath. The country of Ireland is full of old castles with secret rooms, and while some of the stories are obvious figments of lively imaginations, there are other tales that cannot be easily explained away.

When Irish eyes are dying Breath chills till time is over, Death pulls slowly graveward To rest ’neath sod and clover… Ireland… Sweet Erin…The Emerald Isle. In the bright and bonnie light of day, it is a place of beauty, history, and good humor. Of rolling green hills and stone walls at every step of a mile. A kind blessing for health and happiness, and a pint in your hand at the village pub… as well as the sound of fife and fiddle, the lilting tune of laughter, and the cheerful dance of a jig. But, as the sun takes leave and dusk descends, deep shadows and the dank of an evening mist claim the Land of Saints. Within the cloak of night, boogies and beasties roam the moors, keen for the echo of lonesome footsteps and the alluring scent of fear and dread. Banshee, selkie, leprechaun, and fairy alike. The restless spirit of the Sluagh and the bestial form of the werewolf, hungry and on the prowl. In Irish Gothic: Tales of Celtic Horror, Ronald Kelly returns to the land of his ancestry and explores the dark superstition and frightful folklore of Ol’ Éire. Seven stories of Celtic gothic terror… tales to quicken the beat of the heart and chill one’s bones to the very marrow.

Though the name of Monto has endured long in folk memory, the area known as Hell was equally notorious, feared and renowned in its day. In this new work Maurice Curtis explores the histories of these dark remnants of Dublin's past, complete with their gambling, duelling and vice, their rowdy taverns and houses of ill repute.
