Dr. Rick and Jack, tired of work and school, dream about going to Hawaii and becoming beach bums. Mysteriously, they are suddenly on the beach collecting some cool coral and a few pieces of lava rock. Free from work and school seemed like a great idea but it doesn't take long for Jack to realize that what he had at home might have been better than he thought. Jack was not sure if the whole thing was real or a dream but what he did learn for sure is there is no place like home! A humorous story with a fun twist at the end that will help children realize the value of a shower, breakfast and a toothbrush.

When Ozzie Nelson died in 1975, he was no longer a household name. For a guy who had created the longest-running TV sitcom in history, invented the rock video, and fronted one of the most successful big bands of the 1930s, it's baffling that Nelson has faded so far from American media memory. Larger than life offscreen--an attorney, college football star, cartoonist, songwriter, major band leader--Ozzie created a smaller-than-life TV persona, the bumbling average Dad who became known to the rock generation (which included his teen idol son Rick Nelson) as the essence of blandness. But America also saw Ozzie as their iconic Dad: not a "father knows best," since his pontifications usually proved flawed by the end of each episode, but the father who tried his best. This book is the only full-length biography of Ozzie Nelson since he published his memoirs in 1973. It treats the big band and early TV icon with affection and hints that American pop culture may owe more to Ozzie than is generally acknowledged.

1964 was a violent time: Kennedy was murdered in Dallas just a few months before, Vietnam was a bubbling police action, soon to boil over into war, and the South was being desegregated one bloody confrontation at a time. Construction crews were ripping and blasting through Vermont's virgin forests, building Interstate 91, the road that would drag Vermont into the present. It was a violent time for Rick Wallace, working as a grunt laborer, chucking steel for drillers, and hauling dynamite to blast the ledges on the 2.14- mile segment of Interstate 91, that non-union B.V. DeBoni & Sons, had snatched out from under the noses of the big unionized contractors. The union, determined to make the Interstate a closed shop, wooed DeBoni's crew of moonlighting, hardscrabble farmers, while hot-tempered Charlie DeBoni vowed he'd go union "over my dead body." But it was union organizer, Big Jim Jenson, who died in a fiery explosion, and Whitey, DeBoni's head mechanic, and only black employee, was the prime suspect because he and Jenson had gone toe-to-toe over union bigotry. Sleepy Bellows Falls was suddenly engulfed in racist terror, and Rick Wallace, and his guitar-playing buddy, Jack North, took on the local bigots to help their friend, Whitey. But who killed Jim Jenson? Forty years later, Rick still needed to know the answer.

The author is a retired cartographer and graphic artist from the Government of British Columbia. He left Canada in his Jeep, Silver Bullet, to live for a time in the tropics of Mexico. There and on his return he wrote the book Jonathan Owen, Silver Bullet and Bank Robber. The Mexican people, black volcanoes, jungle landscape, torrid climate and a 25 year old woman who robbed banks in North Africa, inspired him to write. On his return from Mexico the author embarked on the book A Dead Artist Can Make a Good Living. The author fictionalizes the stories of his experiences into those of his character Jonathan Owen. In A Dead Artist Can Make a Good Living Jonathan Owen commits a crime in the Muskwa Kitchika district of Northern British Columbia and flees to Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco. In pursuit of him is Constable Jack Garland from the North West Mounted Police Detachment, Fort Nelson, British Columbia,. With the assistance of Interpol and the police forces of the European Union the Officer pursues Jonathan across the south of Europe not realizing he and the rest of the world are part of an elaborate hoax. Jonathan Owen is 60, full of life and adventure and knew perhaps he will become bored with his retirement when it happens. So through his work as a civil servant in the Government of British Columbia he masterminds, with the help of his daughter, a scheme that will make them both a fortune. On his retirement and his return from Mexico, Jonathan hatches his project. Jonathan did not realize how demanding, physically and mentally the project would be. Neither did the author who went to the places his character did.

All of Jack's life, he had experienced many close calls with serious injury or death. They began when he was very young and continued throughout his life. He always believed he was just lucky, but at the age of about twenty, he came to realize God and his angels, indeed, were protecting him. All of the supernatural events that happened to Jack through the years are real. Even as a teenager, he had a premonition of his younger brother's death. For obvious reasons, he only told a few people just bits and pieces of the strange things that had happened to him. He didn't want people to think he was crazy. In fact, for his entire life, he never even told his parents about these experiences. Jack became a very passionate motorcyclist as a means to try to balance the extreme anxiety he often felt as a result of his otherworldly experiences. The many motorcycle trips he took were therapeutic for him in so many ways. Over time, he developed a rather unique theory about the direction mankind was taking and the shape of things to come. More than anything else, this is the story about the ups and downs most people face in life and how having complete trust in God can get you through even the most difficult situations.

Climb to new heights in this sequel to I love you, send money. In this next installment of the Alexis story, you can expect lots more lessons and lots more love. Wanting nothing more than to put the biggest mistake in her life behind her, Alexis Jordain gives her love life a holiday, so she can get the rest of her world under control. Comfortable flying solo, she never expected the rendezvous with Jack to boomerang. If their one-night meet-cute in Hawaii left the pair pondering love-at-first-sight, an unforgettable six-day ‘first date’ had the couple contemplating – could this be happily ever after? In this extreme love story, Alexis balances a long-distance courtship with learning the art of self-love – both elusive, but for different reasons. The romance freefall triggers her inner demons to rear their ugly heads. Each pose a new threat as Alexis grows more anxious, lonely and depressed. She seeks answers to deeper questions that underpin her life, beliefs, and foundations. Will she leave behind her excess baggage and don her own oxygen mask before it’s too late? Aristotle once said, ‘knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.’ What he neglected to mention, was that it might cause turbulence…
