“This is the story of the groundwork that paved the way to my faith. It is not an easy story to tell….” This powerful memoir from Grammy Award winner Ashley Cleveland reminds us that even in the lowest times of our lives, beauty can shine through. As a young woman from a deeply flawed family, Ashley had little hope she would amount to anything. If there was trouble, near or far, she found it. Yet, in her destructive days of drugs, alcohol, and sex, she encountered a forgiving God who was relentlessly faithful. Change did not come quickly. The brokenness did not disappear. But little by little, Ashley allowed God to heal her, to transform her desires, to bring courage to others through her journey. Little by little, she saw that it was her brokenness itself that God wanted to use. This beautifully told story will take you from the back rooms of Nashville to the churches of the San Francisco Bay area to a tender new life where one woman discovers that God can work in broken places.

Bestselling author Georgette Heyer, the Queen of Regency Romance, proves once again that love can always triumph. Abigail Wendover, 'on the shelf' at twenty-eight...is determined to prevent her pretty and high-spirited niece from becoming attached to a good-looking town-beau and an acknowledged fortune-hunter of shocking reputation. Unfortunately, that means a confrontation with his scandalous uncle. Miles Calverleigh, the black sheep of his family, is enormously rich from a long sojourn in India, has a scandalous past, and is not at all inclined toward good manners. Miles turns out to be the most provoking creature Abigail has ever met—with a disconcerting ability to throw her into giggles at quite the wrong moment... Could he be Abby's most important ally in keeping her niece from a most unfortunate match? Praise for Georgette Heyer: "Reading Georgette Heyer is the next best thing to reading Jane Austen."—Publishers Weekly "A writer of great wit and style... I've read her books to ragged shreds."—Kate Fenton, Daily Telegraph "Her books are always bestsellers, but none has dominated the rest of the field quite like this one."—Sunday Express

With their renowned squadron leader Greg “Pappy” Boyington, Marine Fighting Squadron (VMF) 214 was one of the best-known and most colorful combat units of World War II. The popular television series Baa Baa Black Sheep added to their legend—while obscuring the truly remarkable combat record of the Black Sheep and Boyington. A retired naval flight officer and former historian for the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation, Bruce Gamble provides a highly readable account that serves to both correct and extend the record of this premier fighting force.

In his family's eyes, Layne Marks has always been a failure. The undesirable sheep living in his more prosperous brother's shadow. He still struggles to maintain a steady employment or place to live at the age of 26. Anywhere else in the world, just another common person, but not in Eumain. Imperfection is no longer tolerated in Eumain. Both a bank robber and a homeless person will suffer the same punishment in this situation-they will both be labelled Rejects and taken away, never to be seen again. The residents have no way of knowing what will happen to them. According to a persistent rumour, the Rejects have been exiled to a remote, long-forgotten place because they are unfit to live anywhere else - just like themselves. There, all of the criminals of all degrees must rely on one another in order to survive in this harsh and perilous environment that is home to a variety of previously unheard of monsters. Layne Marks has always been warned that he was close to becoming deemed unfit to reside in Eumain, and that it was only a matter of time.

They're back--the boys you go out looking for precisely because your mother warned you not to--the bad boys every good girl needs at least once, if not twice. . . Raphael "Rafe" Santiago may have left the streets years ago, but the street has never left him. A rough childhood in the Bronx taught him never to let his guard down, to keep everything in order, and always to trust that little voice in his gut that tells him when someone's got something to hide. horse trainer Elena Caulfield, is definitely hiding something, and Rafe intends to find out what it is and take care of it--his way. But his way wasn't supposed to include feeling an intense attraction to the tomboyish Elena. With her mud-caked boots, quiet strength, and gentle manner, she's nothing like the flashy, seductive, overtly feminine women Rafe usually beds. The closer he gets to her, the harder it is to control that fiery passion he's worked hard to keep cooled, the kind that can catch a man off guard and leave him open to danger--because whatever secret Elena's protecting, it's big. . .and worth killing for. Because when you're from the Bronx, you take care of what you love--or die trying. . .

Many years ago there was a very good natured sheep who had a very bad start in life. This is her story as to how she turned her life around; simply by being pleasant and respectful to all those who she encountered during her long journey through life. Annie’s life got off to a bad start when her mother died whilst giving birth to her. Annie was also very unfortunate in that when she joined the flock, the leader at that time was a very nasty ewe called Queenie who bullied her mercilessly. Besides having to cope with Queenie’s bullying ways, Annie also had to cope with the farmers’ sheepdog called Sabre as well. He was very similar to Queenie in being another very nasty character. It was as a result to Sabres’ bad attitude that Annie eventually got her big breaks in life, and so ultimately she had a lot to thank him for. This particular story aims to show that where we get off to a bad start in life, either because we are bullied, abused or we handicapped in some way during our early years, things can still come good for us in the end. The things Annie achieved looked impossible during her early days and yet by keeping calm in the face of adversity and in having faith that things will get better she was able to turn her life around.
