The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1988, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from April 18 through September 18, 1988. In the first few days of April Brother Lee visited San Jose, California, for two days, and in the second week of April he flew to Taipei, Taiwan, and remained there until early June. He returned to Anaheim, California, and remained there through the third week of July. In the remaining days of July he visited a number of cities in the California Bay Area, including Berkeley, Hayward, San Jose, Los Altos, and San Francisco. In early August he visited Spokane, Washington, and at the end of August he visited Seattle, Washington. In the last few days of August he visited Alhambra, California, and in September he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia. The contents of this volume are divided into seventeen sections, as follows: 1. Two messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 18 and 25. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Proper Learning and Desire for the Practice of the New Way. 2. A message given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 27. This message is included in this volume under the title The Reason for Changing the System and the Practice of the New Way. 3. Three messages given in Anaheim, California, on July 8 and 9. These messages were previously published in a book entitled A Timely Word and are included in this volume under the same title. Chapters 2 and 3 were included as chapters 4 and 5 in Elders' Training, Book 9: The Eldership and the God-ordained Way (1) and also appear in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1986, volume 3, in a section with the same title. 4. This message was previously published in a booklet entitled Treasuring the Teenage Years for the Lord and is included in this volume under the same title. 7. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1988, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from January 3 through December 18, 1988. In 1988 Brother Lee spoke fifty-six messages that were published in the Life-study of Leviticus. These Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. Brother Lee remained in Irving, Texas, during the first part of January 1988. He returned to Anaheim, California, in the middle of January and again traveled to Irving in February, where he remained until the first part of March. From then until the third week in March he visited Seattle, Washington; Vancouver, Canada; and Berkeley and San Jose, California. In the last week of March Brother Lee visited Spokane, Washington, and San Francisco, California, before he returned to Anaheim. He then returned to Anaheim, California, and remained there until the middle of December. During his time in Anaheim he also ministered in Pasadena, San Gabriel, and Monterey Park, California. In mid-December he traveled to Irving, Texas, and remained there through the early days of January 1989. The contents of this volume are divided into seventeen sections, as follows: 1. Book excerpt: The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, volume 3, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from August 11 through December 10, 1964. During this period Brother Lee spent the majority of his time in Los Angeles, aside from a weekend trip to Tyler, Texas, in September, a weeklong trip in December to Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Eugene, and North Bend, Oregon, and a weekend to visit the saints in Las Vegas, Nevada. No record of his speaking on these trips has been found. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. A series of five messages given on August 11 through 19 during the summer training in Los Angeles. These messages are included in this volume under the title Basic Principles for the Church Meetings. 2. A series of twelve messages given on August 18 through 30 during the summer training in Los Angeles. This series is included in this volume under the title The Oneness of the Body and the Service in the Church Life. 3. Messages given in Los Angeles on August 4 through 6 and September 13. Brother Lee gave four messages, which have been condensed into the three chapters of this section, entitled Prayer in Ephesians. 4. A series of twenty-four messages given from August 4 through September 2 during the summer training in Los Angeles. This series has been previously published under the title The Economy of God. 5. Three messages given in Los Angeles on August 2 and 3. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in Los Angeles. 6. Miscellaneous messages given in Los Angeles on August 12 through 29. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Fellowship in Los Angeles. 7. A series of five messages given in Los Angeles on September 7 through 9. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship concerning Migration. 8. Twelve messages given in various meetings in Los Angeles from September 15 through December 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Fall Meetings in Los Angeles.
