A dashing duke who needs to wed an heiress to save his ancestral home. A down and out DJ hoping to escape her past. The tables turn when these two opposites attract. Diego Zhi Wen de Bernadino, the Duke of Mondego, vowed to never follow the blue blood tradition of marrying for money. Unfortunately, left in crippling debt by his profligate father, and with his mother and staff threatened with destitution, marrying for love is not an option. When a tech billionairess hosts a party in Cordoba, he's determined to win her affection. But his prestigious education and mastery of four languages hasn't prepared him for a party girl's unique vocabulary-his big seduction gets lost in translation. DJ Spin d'Elle's upbringing left her wary of the monied, noble class. Spin lives her life for the next party and gives away everything she doesn't need. But when she meets the delicious duke, the record scratches and her tune changes. Though she agrees to help him woo her employer, she soon finds the music they make together is sweeter. With so much in common, will the duke and the DJ be able to remix their duet? Or will the pressures of money and duty cause the tune to fade out? Find out if love will reign in this light-hearted, sweet romance of royal engagements. The Duke and the DJ is the third in a series of royal romances that are beyond the common tale!

The literary equivalent of a great dive bar jukebox--inspiring, provocative, irresistible, and the perfect gift for all music lovers. At the heart of all music fetishes, there are lists: ten essential female murder ballads, ten unsettling songs for a midwestern white guy to wake to from a coma, ten smutty Bob Dylan moments, and of course the ever-popular staple of all music lists (and listeners)--ten best breakup songs. Hang the DJ compiles what contributors might once have scribbled in the back of their textbooks or school folders, when they--like all of us at one point--were absolutely sure that they alone were the sole guardians of Musical Truth; that Sparks' number two hit, "This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us," really should have made it to the number one spot, that Gary Numan was merely a misshapen progeny of Bowie's Thin White Duke persona, that female singer-songwriters are better than their male equivalents. Mixing anecdote, humor, reference, and sheer dorkiness--but with the bizarre insight of an anthropological study in pop-culture protocol--Hang the DJ is a collection of lists about musical loves, hates, dreams, and nightmares from music-lovers such as Rick Moody, Jonathan Lethem, Simon Reynolds, Ali Smith, Amanda Petrusich, and many other bloggers, journalists, novelists, poets, and musicians.

Armed with speakers, turntables, light systems, and records, Filipino American mobile DJ crews, such as Ultimate Creations, Spintronix, and Images, Inc., rocked dance floors throughout the San Francisco Bay Area from the late 1970s through the mid-1990s. In Legions of Boom noted music and pop culture writer and scholar Oliver Wang chronicles this remarkable scene that eventually became the cradle for turntablism. These crews, which were instrumental in helping to create and unify the Bay Area's Filipino American community, gave young men opportunities to assert their masculinity and gain social status. While crews regularly spun records for school dances, weddings, birthdays, or garage parties, the scene's centerpieces were showcases—or multi-crew performances—which drew crowds of hundreds, or even thousands. By the mid-1990s the scene was in decline, as single DJs became popular, recruitment to crews fell off, and aspiring scratch DJs branched off into their own scene. As the training ground for a generation of DJs, including DJ Q-Bert, Shortkut, and Mix Master Mike, the mobile scene left an indelible mark on its community that eventually grew to have a global impact.

DJ Chung gives you his mother's stories and lessons that helped him become valedictorian of a large, competitive public high school and gain entry into Duke University. These lessons will provide you with a roadmap on how to gain the essential skills necessary to realize the ultimate goal of becoming valedictorian. Build Like an Ant will show you how a devoted mother's wisdom can help you reach high goals during the ever increasingly competitive, stressful and pressure-filled time called, high school. To Anyone With A Dream, Becoming valedictorian was about more than just being the head of my class. It was about setting a huge goal for myself and committing to achieving it. Without my mother, I don't know that I would have had the ambition to dream so big or the confidence to go for it. Thanks to Mama Chung, I have learned that any goal is achievable as long as you know how to approach it and have the right attitude. I've realized how lucky I am to have a mother who supports and encourages me. I've realized too that her stories are relevant to many people and the lessons can be applied to any goal. That's why I wrote this book. Mama Chung's sayings are just too good to go unrecorded! From "build like an ant" to "keep adding tools to your toolbox" to "don't just stand in the kitchen," my mother always knows the right thing to say to get me thinking and to get me moving. I hope that reading my book inspires you to achieve your goals and gives you the tools you need to succeed. Best of luck to you ... and don't forget to tell your mom "thanks!" -DJ Chung
