'A gracefully written book about the inner strength we all have within us' Wim Hof ________________________________________________________________________________ Do you feel held back by your own thoughts? Have you gone through years of therapy but never quite resolved your problems? Whether you struggle with mental health or want to achieve more in life, this revolutionary book is your key to finally making positive changes. It's common to feel a loss of control and even feel out of touch with our own identity when we go through periods of stress or trauma. Our brains are conditioned to form beliefs about ourselves and the world around us, so when we experience adversity thoughts such as 'I'm not good enough', 'I don't deserve to be happy' and 'I don't belong here' can develop and start to hold us back in life. Left unchecked, these thoughts can leave us feeling stuck, incapable and unfulfilled but this life-changing book shows how we can de-hypnotize ourselves of those beliefs and re-discover the capable and confident person within us. Having practised as a therapist for almost thirty years, Andrew Parr has helped thousands of people to break free of their self-sabotaging thoughts and achieve things they never thought possible: from pay rises to weight loss, and from quitting smoking to overcoming insomnia. In The Real You he shares his transformative approach, combining the most effective aspects of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, coaching and CBT, that will help you to identify and resolve problematic mental patterns more easily than with traditional talking therapy. No matter what you want to achieve, the simple, practical exercises in this book will put you back control of your thoughts, transform your self-confidence and make success possible. ________________________________________________________________________________ 'A truly unique and transformational book' Paul Hewitt, Sports Performance Specialist

How an acceptance of our limitations can lead to a more fulfilling life and a more harmonious society We live in a world oriented toward greatness, one in which we feel compelled to be among the wealthiest, most powerful, and most famous. This book explains why no one truly benefits from this competitive social order, and reveals how another way of life is possible—a good-enough life for all. Avram Alpert shows how our obsession with greatness results in stress and anxiety, damage to our relationships, widespread political and economic inequality, and destruction of the natural world. He describes how to move beyond greatness to create a society in which everyone flourishes. By competing less with each other, each of us can find renewed meaning and purpose, have our material and emotional needs met, and begin to lead more leisurely lives. Alpert makes no false utopian promises, however. Life can never be more than good enough because there will always be accidents and tragedies beyond our control, which is why we must stop dividing the world into winners and losers and ensure that there is a fair share of decency and sufficiency to go around. Visionary and provocative, The Good-Enough Life demonstrates how we can work together to cultivate a good-enough life for all instead of tearing ourselves apart in a race to the top of the social pyramid.

The 7 Laws of Enough is about the most radical kind of change, at the personal, organizational, and societal level: a shift from scarcity to sustainable abundance. These seven principles, pioneered by leadership consultants Gina LaRoche and Jennifer Cohen, guide readers on a transformational journey of self-discovery, towards new leadership strategies and a renewed sense of fulfillment and purpose. It starts with law number one: stories matter. We are all living in the story of scarcity—the story that tells us we don’t have enough. We want more and more, perpetuating a vicious cycle of consumption that lowers our own well-being and irreparably damages the Earth. This book is an invitation to live in another story, the story of sustainable abundance. The ripples from making this shift are profound—it will change your relation to your loved ones, your work, and the planet. Essential for spiritual seekers, business leaders, and environmentalists alike, The 7 Laws of Enough points the way towards a new way of living and leading.

Why software isn’t perfect, as seen through the stories of software developers at a run-of-the-mill tech company Contrary to much of the popular discourse, not all technology is seamless and awesome; some of it is simply “good enough.” In Middle Tech, Paula Bialski offers an ethnographic study of software developers at a non-flashy, non-start-up corporate tech company. Their stories reveal why software isn’t perfect and how developers communicate, care, and compromise to make software work—or at least work until the next update. Exploring the culture of good enoughness at a technology firm she calls “MiddleTech,” Bialski shows how doing good-enough work is a collectively negotiated resistance to the organizational ideology found in corporate software settings. The truth, Bialski reminds us, is that technology breaks due to human-related issues: staff cutbacks cause media platforms to crash, in-car GPS systems cause catastrophic incidents, and chatbots can be weird. Developers must often labor to patch and repair legacy systems rather than dream up killer apps. Bialski presents a less sensationalist, more empirical portrait of technology work than the frequently told Silicon Valley narratives of disruption and innovation. She finds that software engineers at MiddleTech regard technology as an ephemeral object that only needs to be good enough to function until its next iteration. As a result, they don’t feel much pressure to make it perfect. Through the deeply personal stories of people and their practices at MiddleTech, Bialski traces the ways that workers create and sustain a complex culture of good enoughness.
