There is an African proverb that goes, There is a king in every man. The Ride From Kingston To Montego Bay is about a young man named Aghagbolu who is the great-great-great-grandson of Obi Okonya I, the first king of the village of Mbubu. He was an African prince when he lived in Iboland, the land of the living, a society that is filled with the magic of ancestral spirits, ceremonies, chiefs, clansmen, compounds, earth gods and goddesses, families, farming, feasts, festivals, kings, kinship, marketplaces, oral traditions, priests, priestesses, queens, towns, tribes, and villages. As the son of a king, growing up in a Royal Palace was a time when rumors of war with surrounding villages was a way of life. His father, Obi Mberekpe, inherited the African Company and a debt that was never paid to the Royal Jamaican Company when his father, Obi Ezeukwu, was the king of the village of Mbubu. To setttle the debt, the Royal Jamaican Company fought with the African Company in Iboland. Aghagbolu has lived in Jamaica ever since trade ships left the village of Mbubu with him on board at the end of the war. Today, he is a chaffeur in Jamaica and well-known throughout the Carribean for the oral tradition of his African village, telling folktales. Aghagbolu and his passenger, Lyndon Johnson, a very wealthy realtor, create an unforgettable friendship together on their way to the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay from the airport in Kingston.

In a world bedevilled by wars, hunger, inequality, social injustice, racial discrimination and intolerance, almost all of the world's rich societies such as America, the European Union, Australia and Asia set up immigration barriers in order to keep migrants and refugees from coming through their borders and seeking a new and better life, different from the one they knew before, but migrants aren't deterred. They still travel to those countries' frontiers, defying warnings, hoping to make it. In recent years, Germany has taken in many foreign migrants who fled violence, persecution, hunger and death amid a growing atmosphere of resentment, xenophobia, racism and bigotry partly ushered in by the coming to power of the United States of America's dystopian demagogue Hurricane Donald Trump, who endorses politics of hate, ethnic prejudice and religion mostly because these minorities don't look like him. Some of these people pass through hardships into the Sahara Desert. Some are raped while others are used as guinea pigs as their lives are uprooted for transactional purposes. Some are sold and forced into labour while others are killed. Those who survive the ordeal into the Mediterranean Sea lose their lives in unseaworthy boats. What's the end game to this whole global crisis? Will the world cooperate to resolve global issues besieging the world and tackle the forces that enthrone them? Should we still believe in the hope offered the world by the Fall of Berlin Wall, or, should we, in these strange times, believe the Wall has gone right back up?

Therefore he was not surprised with the on-going crises and wars in these countries because of his concerns over their lack of Christian pillars of modern civilization, democracy, and governance. His experience and exposure had inspired his analyses in these four books. Back in Nigeria in 1980, he became one of the countrys pioneers in Indigenous Banking and the Establishment of the First African Commodity Exchange. During his twenty years in Nigeria (1980-2000), he embarked on the audacious mission of bringing his global exposure and experience to contribute to the development of Nigerias Finance and Private sectors to lead its National Development. The multitudinous nature of African literature has always been an issue but really not a problem, although its oral base has been used by expatriate critics to accuse African literature of thin plots, superficial characterisation, and narrative structures. African literature also, it is observed, is a mixed grill: it is oral; it is written in vernacular or tribal tongues; written in foreign tongues English, French, Portuguese and within the foreign language in which it is written, pidgin and creole further bend the already bent language giving African literature a further taint of linguistic impurity. African literature further suffers from the nature of its "newness" and this created problems for the critic. Because it is new, and because its critics are in simultaneous existence with its writers, we confront the problem of "instant analysis". Issues in African Literature continues the debate and tries to clarify contemporary burning issues in African literature, by focussing on particular areas where the debate has been most concerned or around which it has hovered and been persistent.
