Lama Zopa Rinpoche has specifically compiled this essential daily practice for his students and anyone else wishing to start their day, and all their activities, with a perfect Dharma intention and bodhichitta motivation. It includes the following practices and mantras to make one’s life highly beneficial for oneself and others. The Method to Transform a Suffering Life into Happiness (Including Enlightenment) is a compilation of an inspiring lamrim prayer by Dorje Chang Lozang Jinpa, two key thought transformation verses, and special verses from Shantideva’s Engaging in a Bodhisattva’s Deeds about how to live your life for others. Blessing the Speech According to the Instructions of Great Yogi Khyungpo involves the recitation of several mantras to make the power of your speech perfect, multiply the power of your mantra recitation by ten million, prevent the power of your speech from being taken away by eating wrong foods, and transform even your gossiping into the recitation of mantra. Daily Mantras include mantras to bless your rosary; to multiply whatever virtuous activity you do by a hundred thousand; to purify anyone who talks to you, hears your voice, and touches your body; to purify heavy negative karmas and consecrate holy objects and rocks, trees, and so forth; and to bring about the fulfillment of all wishes. Mantras for Specific Occasions includes a mantra that multiplies whatever Dharma texts you read millions of times and a mantra to bless your feet, as well as car wheels, so that any sentient beings who die under them are reborn in a deva realm. 28 pages, 2020 edition.

"Happiness and suffering are dependent upon your mind, upon your interpretation. They do not come from outside, from others. All of your happiness and all of your suffering are created by you, by your own mind," says Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Commenting on an early-twentieth-century Tibetan text of instructions and practical advice for everyday spiritual living, Lama Zopa Rinpoche teaches us how to be happy during hard times by adopting skillful attitudes--ways of interpreting reality that can permit us to live a joyful and relaxed life regardless of circumstance. In Transforming Problems Into Happiness, Lama Zopa Rinpoche brings his own special flavor and contemporary relevance to a timeless teaching on Buddhist psychology. This volume will be valuable to all, no matter the spiritual background of the reader or the kind of problems that have led them to ask that ageless question: How can I achieve happiness? This new edition includes a translation of the root text, Dodrupchen Rinpoche's (1865-1926) Instructions on Turning Happiness and Suffering into the Path of Enlightenment, translated by Tulku Thundop.

Unconventional wisdom, affirmation, and advice from one of Tibetan Buddhism's most influential living teachers. Lama Zopa Rinpoche is a master at explaining Buddhism's radical but effective methods for transforming suffering into happiness, which have been practiced and taught by Tibetans for a thousand years. It's a challenging way to think - how can it be that the things that cause us pain are actually blessings? In Dear Lama Zopa, Rinpoche applies that challenge to our everyday, real-life problems - from the littlest to the biggest. Every year he receives thousands of letters from people around the world asking for advice - on coping with everything from addiction, grief, and depression, to war, terrorism, and death. In his detailed and deeply caring responses to these letters, reproduced here, Rinpoche shows again and again that the best method for solving our problems is to radically change the way we perceive them; that by emphasizing their inner causes we can even change the resulting outer circumstances. Even people familiar with notions like karma and reincarnation, which imply that we are the creators of our own experiences, may find the advice difficult. Yet uncountable thousands of people of all backgrounds have put Rinpoche's loving guidance into practice - and have seen real and positive change in their lives. Now, with Dear Lama Zopa, you can see for yourself...

"Shantideva pointed out that everything good--every form of happiness, all positive qualities and so forth--comes through the kindness of others. Therefore, the mind devoted to their welfare is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, the source of all happiness and everything good and useful in the world. Just as a farmer who possesses an extremely fertile field, where everything he plants always grows, is very happy to have it and cherishes and takes great care of it, we should feel the same way about other sentient beings--that they are extremely valuable, and cherish and take care of them. "It is interesting that, whether we are Buddhist or not, if we think about the great kindness of all beings it will be evident that all our happiness does indeed depend upon them." In this book, Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Jampa Tegchok explains how we can train our mind away from self-cherishing, the cause of all suffering, and develop compassion, the cause of everything that is good. He bases his explanation on Kadampa Geshe Chekawa’s classic text, The Seven Point Mind Training, which, amongst other things, teaches us how to transform problems into happiness. This book is made possible by kind supporters of the Archive who, like you, appreciate how we make these teachings freely available in so many ways, including in our website for instant reading, listening or downloading, and as printed and electronic books. Lama Zopa Rinpoche compiled A Daily Meditation on Shakyamuni Buddha specifically for beginner Buddhist practitioners to use as the basis of a formal meditation practice. In this revised version, Rinpoche has reorganized some of the prayers and, in particular, has added an extensive explanation of the visualizations to be done while taking refuge. Drawn from Phabongkha Rinpoche’s Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand, for each of the objects of refuge—Guru, Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha—there are visualizations for purifying negative karma, increasing qualities, and coming under the guidance of that object of refuge. Subtitled “How to Meditate on the Graduated Path to Enlightenment,” it includes the preliminary practices of generating a bodhicitta motivation and blessing the offerings, and the actual practice of taking refuge in the Three Rare Sublime Ones, meditation on the four immeasurables, the seven-limb practice, and mandala offering, followed by making requests to the guru and Foundation of All Good Qualities. These practices prepare the mind for lamrim meditation by purifying negative karma and collecting extensive merits, and making requests to the guru. This practice can also be used as a basis for engaging in the preliminary practices, such as accumulating 100,000 prostrations, mandala offerings, and water bowl offerings. 2022 edition.
