Is marriage an antiquated relic in the zombie apocalypse? Michelle Greggs had the perfect life; a loving husband, a nice home in San Francisco, and a belief in safety and security. That all ended the day the zombies rose. Against her wishes, her husband Mitch goes to one last day at his job as a police officer in the chaos of the Z virus epidemic. When he returns home as the undead, she is forced to kill her one and only love. With no safety and security to be had in S.F. she is evacuated to the middle of nowhere in Central California. There, she clings to the remnants of safety behind cement walls, allowing others to venture outside to do the necessary killing of the undead. Teddy Ridgewood proclaims himself the King of Pittsburg, population 1. To the survivors he joins, he projects an image of a fun-loving guy, thinking the zombie apocalypse is a never-ending video game. Inside, he dies a little with each undead kill, still seeing the people they were. Michelle yearns to embrace Teddy's live-for-today attitude as much as she yearns to embrace the man himself, but both things scare her more than the undead moaning outside the walls of the compound. Can Teddy help Michelle to let go of her fears, to enable her to find the strength he believes she has deep inside?

Get ready for a thrilling ride with Dr. Vickie Anderson as she moves to a seemingly ordinary small town to begin her practice as a physician. But as she gets to know the townspeople, she discovers a world beyond her wildest imagination. With a charming vampire as her lover, a wise witch as her confidante, and a hot sheriff as her sidekick, Vickie finds herself navigating a dangerous world of zombie hunters and bloodsuckers. Will she be able to balance her medical duties with her newfound role as a superhero? Find out in this captivating tale that will leave you on the edge of your seat. "Vickie: Doctor by day. Zombie Hunter by night" is book one of the thrilling and adventurous Vickie series. Here is what a few readers are saying... "I could not help but to laugh. There are things that are mentioned in the book, and at about 1/4 of the way into the book, I've got some ideas about what may be going on. I guess I'll find out. On some things I thought, I was right, on others I was completely off the mark. I truly hope that Eileen writes a follow up to this book. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Definitely a paranormal/romance/mystery with a bit of thriller thrown in." This was such a great book. The imagination of this author is astounding! This isn't your typical zombie book and I didnt really think it horror but everyone is different. As I said this is a different take on zombies but its also a great story. Vickie is a doctor who sets up in a new town as their new resident doctor since the old one passed. She rents a huge house which she runs her office out of as well as has some boarders turned friends staying with her. I dont know what else to say about this book that wont give away spoilers so I'll have to just leave it at that. This is a really great book with a strong heroin and two very hot alpha males who both want her. Add in some supernatural things like zombies, witches and vampires and this book is all you need for a lazy day of reading."

Where does reality stop and fantasy begin? In the case of The Walking Dead superstar Norman Reedus, the question is still very much up in the air. His Daryl Dixon is a very flawed, psychologically scarred character in a zombie-infested world. And there is much in his portrayal that is informed by a real life that is equally flawed and equally scarred. In Norman Reedus: An Unauthorized Biography: True Tales of the Walking Dead’s Zombie Hunter, the first detailed look at Norman Reedus’ life and times, you will get it all. The good, the bad and the ugly. This book chronicles his days as a defiant young man in a fractured but ultimately liberating family life, allegations of physical abuse from Reedus himself, to his struggles in the Los Angeles art underground, alcohol problems that saw him in AA and, for a time, homeless, his breakthrough in acting, modeling and the slow, steady and never boring journey through love, fatherhood and his often truly odd professional choices. You’ll discover why Reedus said thanks but no thanks to an offer to play opposite a reigning superstar, how he became Daryl Dixon and how The Walking Dead changed his life. Oh yes, there is that penchant for roadkill. New York Times Bestselling author Marc Shapiro has dug deep, tracking down people who knew him way back when as well as in the here and now for original interviews. They were willing to talk and they revealed stories about Reedus that even the most fanatic fans won’t know. The author’s research was relentless, digging into deep, dark and obscure corners. Norman Reedus’ world is about real life wrapped around a world of fantasy. Norman Reedus: The Unauthorized Biography: True Tales of the Walking Dead’s Zombie Hunter pulls no punches, tells only the truth and leaves the rest up to the reader. Which ultimately is the way Norman Reedus would want it.

The zombie--popular culture's undead darling--shows no signs of stopping. But as it develops to suit changing audience tastes, its characteristics transform. This collection of new essays examines the latest incarnation, the romantic zombie, a re-humanized monster we want to help, heal and connect with rather than destroy. The authors discuss our increasingly sympathetic view of the reanimated dead as more than physical bodies devoid of life and personality. Their essays cover a range of topics, including audience obsession with Apocalyptic love; the problem of a kinder, gentler undead; the millennial reinvention of the "sexy zombie"; and "uncanny valley romance."
