The new series of geographies departs in a radical manner from the books and courses of study now in use. The grammar school course is made a progressive one, each country being studied in a formal way but once. It abandons the customary presentation of facts as not constituting good geography and substitutes for this the study of relations. The present outline develops the conception of "relation" and presents Europe from the "problem" point of view. This gives vitality to the subject matter and in addition arouses intense interest on the part of the pupils.
