AOPs have been widely applied for the removal of a wide range of contaminants including pharmaceuticals, dyes, surfactants, pesticides, herbicides, disinfection by-products, endocrine disrupting chemicals etc. However, there are still ongoing investigation on the impact of the oxidants used, nanoparticles/catalysts, and resultant metabolites on human health and the environment.
