This report presents the findings of a qualitative study to investigate the reasons why young people are not participating in local government and to consider possible options to address this aspect of the political process. It examines the different ways in which young people view and participate in local politics and the factors that shape and influence their individual perspectives. The study also gave the opportunity for the youth included in the sample to generate their own ideas and solutions for engaging greater youth participation in local politics.
